how long till Whips or Ket Cove starts getting as a manufactured Clubnight "brand" I had some good nights in Zou Zou's Taxi i might ask him for his mix tapes and magic tree and set one up.
Why? It's not as if people are going to be standing there off their face when it's booting off to fuck thinking "fucking hell, I wish I was at a zoo"
Before any line-up has even been announced people are having a whinge. As Burrah has said, good DJ's, good music, good atmosphere. Isn't that what matters? When Cream/Gods/Crasher do tours do people think, regardless of how good the music is "This isnt Nation/Air/Republic." Now that D.S are going be doing nights at Hoults Yard will people be saying "Nah its not gonna be the same as My House/Stinkys. Lets give it a miss" No one's as gutted as I am that Flamingo Land was already booked for the night in question. If Jesmond Dene wasnt going through its current £6mill refurb than that would have been an ideal replacement. Unfortunately this is gonna have to be hosted in a club. Imagine that! An actual nightclub with a dance floor, flashing lights, a bar, a soundsystem & toilets. Wow-wee! So lets just wait till the lineup is released. If youre intrested then thats sound. We'll hopefully see you there. If not, no problem. Horses for courses n all that... Much love xxx
it should be yes, but it's not normally the case in newcastle. i dont think legends would have sold out last time if it was just jaunt and not circo loco. its still a good idea tho, and best of luck to it! why anyone would expect it to be held anywhere but a club in the north of england is beyond me. However, i'm a spurious non-attending messege board lout anyway, so please disregard my comments as needed
Talking about Jesmond Dene have anyone seen the new building and courtyard they've done? Could make a good venue for the summer months. Looking forward to this anyway.
^ Yeah, but that's obvious. Good dj's and good music happen all the time in Newcastle anyway. The difference is the atmosphere, because circo loco's in town and everybody's going. And that's not because people are obsessed with a brand or whatever - they just know that, being a one off, it's going to be fucking rammed and booting off. It's a guaranteed good night and everybody realises collectively. Self-fulfilling prophecy innit.
Yeah your probably right, just like we alone probably wouldnt have sold out digital on Boxing Day either without the We Love brand. I think people think that it's just a case of walking up to the man that runs Circo Loco and asking if you can run his party in Newcastle, let me asure you it's not that easy. We've built up the connections and know how to run the parties so why wouldn't we use them? Im loving the contraversial response, a bit gutted about the nucastle board cool cats that won't be coming though, making such a huge difference to the dance floors of the North and all. Well put Vancey.
