People always expect to much of England, we are a mediocre team with mediocre players, we're no better now than we were 10 years ago

We're a mediocre team with great players but a horrific management team

What the fuck were they doing just pumping high balls into the corners when we had 2 of our smallest strikers playing??? I felt sorry for Johnson, he worked his arse off but wasnt actually ever in the box

I've never seen an england team so devoid of ideas. Fair play to Israel, they got it tactically spot on, 9 men behind the ball for 90 minutes....that Tal Ben Heim is an absolute beast

72% possession in the first half

I heard someone put forward Steve Coppell the other day... although he wasn't in contention for the job before, if McClaren was to get the boot I think he'd be an excellent choice.

He's intelligent, usually plays attractive and attacking football, and can motivate players to work as a team and play above themselves... far better qualifications than McClaren. I'd never have Fat Sam as England boss but even he's proved himself over a longer period.

I think the problem with someone like Coppell is that he doesnt have the experience of working with big name players...this would be a definite attribute that i would look for in an England manager in these days of superstardom.

Especially with the ego's that will come through from the U21 lot

Aye I agree Coppell might not have all the experience, but how many Englishmen do?

Not that i'd be against a foreign manager but this is England, we should be able to produce a handful of English managers worth their salt!

Big Steve - McClaren played for Hull and a couple of other forgettable teams
