Who's even been to Shindig, and what did u think

re: the crowd......... they aint stuck up or posey imho...... bit older and dressed up more than promise but talk to them and you'll find they're as friendly and as nice a bunch as promise ppl.

1 thing they dont have that we do is this big family/community thing going on, probs cos they dont have a msg board....... but they aint stuck up or particularly posey.

could we have a used 2 go all the time then discovered promise n went to shindig twice latley n didnt enjoy it? that would be my pick!

Went a while back but did'nt really enjoy it. Promise much better

I went once or twice as soon as i came up to uni last year, that was when i never knew about promise. Cant remember who we went to see though! i saw a flyer in there for promise n thought, hmm this looks good!

Never looked back although i would love to go to shindig another time for a bit of change.

Id like to go back with ma pals when someone who i might like is on. I havnt written the place off!

IMO I love Shindig (for a change), really fresh and funky beats, gotta say Yousef (crowd dj) & Tim Deluxe (technically) has been the best 2 so far!, but I much prefer the Promise crowd because it much more homely (if u know what i mean), happier!

But yeah, Shindig is probably THE best house nite in the UK ( in my opinion anyway)

Jeff, If you'd stuck wi Deepdish, you'd have seen the place rocked to it's foundations funky by the time it closed.

I did stay. It didnt rock. People were kind of twitchin but no rockin.

Hmm Shindig is OK but is it deserving of best underground club in the UK 2002? Not in my opinion, as the point made several times here many peepz just go cos they see it as being 'cool' which just drags the atmosphere down. Basics@Rehab in Leeds is much better IMO and it's open til 6am.

Having said that the last time Dj Sneak played he fucking tore the arse out of the sound system and the place was bouncing all night, right through til the premature (3am) finish. He finished with 'U can't hide from ur bud' , and quality time was had by all.

I assume Derrick Carter and DJ Dan would've done the same. Didn't catch either of those two, either

I was in ibiza when DJ Dan might've been good but NO WAY Derrick Carter has played Shindig recently or ever that I know of. Would be good but I would cry if they turned it off at 3 or 4am. The last time I heard him play out was at Basics when it was at the mint club and he played from midnight 'til after 7am and it was amazing.

Sneak was mint, Dan was really class too, Derrick Carter used to play years back and looks set to make return before the end of the year....!

Last saw him at Basics a month ago, he was fuckin monumental!

I hear he got on the mic at the end and started rapping to ol dirty bastard - baby i got yer money.

I went to shindig when deep dish were there. It was a good night apart from how hot it was think the air conditioning was broke that night. would go again, although the crowd isn't as friendly as it is on a friday night
