or a tenner in sunderland ;)

depends where you go - I'm going on two eastern european holidays for about £800 (with passes but I already have the gear).

You can go away for £300 (including everything excpet the gear), you can then hire the equiptment and clothing for under £100

You can go away for well under £500.

Don't waste your time on dry slopes, get out there on the real stuff, where it doesn't hurt if you fall :D

Snow holidays are perhaps the best holidays I have, do it for sure

You don't need a good hotel you'll use it to get changed and sleep in only.

Once you know what your doing ... fair enough. But i didnt have a damn clue when i first started - and a decent enough resort and infrastructure made it a whole lot easier... especially ifyou had a handful of euro's and a thickie brit smile.

not at all, its where most boarders are heading as the budget holidays aren't touching the slopes yet.... the alps have huge lift queues, pompus crowds, crowded slopes, shitty apres ski.

Most eastern european resorts are manned by their olympic teams - the tuition is first rate :D

I guarentee that over the next few years they'll start filling up... one of the reasons I'm going this year is because I wnat to expeirence ranges like the Tatra's before the masses ruin them.

I hate the alps, I love the mountains - but the resorts suck.

you couldn't afford the alps then....

it will set you back thousands for a nice chalet, tuition, flights and expenses.
