In terms of the venue i prefer Mono to Liquid. Its the right size for the night, and fills up quite nicely.

Liquid is bigger, so looks empty. And the sound is too loud. I go to these event to stand around, have a few drinks and a bit of banter with everyone. Im not going clubbing, and getting trashed. So if i cant hear / speak to anyone, its not much good.

Pints are cheaper at Vuzz too, £1.60 compared to £2.65.

Both are doin a good job, but Vuzz gets my vote.

Exactly! The first couple have kinda been a bit to just give all the residents a chance to play the first couple of nights.

We're being much more thoughtful from now on.

In future the nights things will build much better.

But Dave has hit the nail on the head, and so has Spence (in the nicest way).

twisted - good venue, sound system, position of dj booth

vuzz - drinks, sitty down bits, locks on loo doors

i voted twisted, would be much better with chaper drinks though, i really like beer!!!!!

We need melt to liven up this thread by coming on and telling us all that both nights, in fact, owe their success to Detox as they were doing everything light years before anyone else! :p

Vuzz tried to educate us after gav charters done one, it seemed to lose its fun after he left and that was at a time when trance was on a downer and twisted logic really needed a more suitable venue than liquid.

There was fuck all around at the time to be honest and we knew we had no way of competing with Promise.
The venue was good for a midweek night and we had some cracking DJ's on.
We could have took it further but we lost interest to be honest. I dont know how you've manahed to stand promotion for so long Melt. Its a fucking pain in the arse especially when you're working fulll time and you've got a family.
I wouldnt mint getting back into the DJ stuff a bit more seriously but you have to be some sort of producer to get anywhere these days.

The most disturbing thing about this thread is the debate was nearly three & half years ago, it seems like yesterday people were going to these nights.
