to be fair MOS you wasnt there at the birth of GG i was and what you had @ foundation we had @ phillips park hall the thing that made GG a BRAND was the fact it was so good the place the crowd the people but the problem with success is you atract the nob's who are there cos it's "the place to be seen" not cos it's a mint club in some respects i wish it hadn't got too big but then you miss out on some fantastic events

i miss GOODGREEF as it was but still enjoy GG for what it is yeah thers a minority @ trees but again that minority go tree's week in week out as it's there home club they are not Greefer's in any way shape or form

Psychabollock, seeing as you didn't bother going to Promise, your opinion on the topic of this thread is totally void.

    My Verdict -

Promise - was good back in the day, good people, atmosphere, wank bouncers, All in all good

    Goodgreef - EXCELLENT

i agree - but club nights like these can be so associated with it's venue, it becomes part of the the whole thing, and once it moves, the thing that makes it' special doesn't always follow. GG @ trees will primarily be totally different from GG at philips park hall.

Some nights dont' focus soley around the venue - and they build a reputation for the music, the night and it's punters - Detox for example - and have strong, loyal follows.

This isn't always the case and it's just my opinion - what do i know, i'm only a punter that loves the music and hands over hard earned cash

    Promise.

GG is ok.. but sometimes I don't find the listings very desirable.

Promise, when weekly and even fortnightly, was the best night in the north east for trance music.
It was pulling the same size crowds as shindig everyweek.

Thing is.. Promise was based in Newcastle at the time.. and goodgreef wasn't.

Therefore you are bound to get Promise bias on this board, especially as it was formally the official promise messageboard.

Tbh with you this is a very stupid debate..
