To say music was rubbish in eary 90's is basicly stupid.

I Don't think you have the music collection to judge a time when dance music was its peak and record from the time still rock partys how can you think Energy Flash or the Vamp are Rubbish.

    I stard buying records in 1991 when i was 14 i went to rez 1t 16.

I Play at and help run a oldschool night called Energy Flash which rocks to 91 record everytime its on check it out on NYE.

Basically your entitled to your own thoughts but you don't have the knowledge or taste to back up your ramblings.

Pete i if talk shit about something i am passionate about and throw around personal insults i will do the same plus pull you up on it on street next time i see you.

For the record i abuy loads of new music and promote backlash which dedicatored to pushing new experimental rave music so i am hardly stuck in musical time warp.

eh? so do i need a greater depth of knowledge of music from that era to not like it then? so obviously i need to listen to a joey beltram track to not appreciate it? i've listend to old-skool tapes that my mam had off years ago but it doesent quite do it for me merely because it's not really my bag. And as far as i'm concerend its yesterday's news, they dont call it old-skool for nothing.

furthermore as has been mentioned above, my mam liked it, thats enough said really.

so as the situation presents, your obviously stuck in the past if you cant get your head around someone not liking your taste in music. You probably think the music i listen to is wank, but it doesent mean i get up in arms and reach for the pitchfork. whats the point? Opinions and taste are hard to shift from a person, so calling my knowledge of old-skool shit is a contradiction of terms. Why would i have a good knowledge when i dont listen to it BECAUSE i dont like it.?

    why james? why is that?

So admit to not listerning to classic from that era and callingthe music the wank.

How can not like something you have not listerned to,

Surely it best not comment on a subject you admit to knowing nothing about.

I listern to loads of old music and love it to such as joy division, The Pixies,Fleetwood Mac,Kate Bush etc etc etc
Who cares if its yesterday news its still good music.

The point is i never slagged of your music did i, You slagged music i am into with out actual knowing anything about surely that makes your comments not valid.

Why do i care because i play out oldschool and promote an oldschool night amongst other things.

No just say that your not qualified to say all music from 91 is shit.

Just say you don't like what you heard.#

As for mum liking rave my mum likes some wiked motown, funk and soul so maybe you should give her tastes more respect as well.

Not Rocket science just having some respect for those who are actual into the music.

No, opinions are solid and cannot and will not be retracted

i think you mis-understand my arguement here.

i dont like the "old-skool" dance music from the 90's onwards - i didnt mean older music in general! thats just silly. as for wicked ghetto funk, i know a lad who plays just that and its all good. a little wierd but good.

i do give my mam some respect for her musical tastes. she said that all that daft early 90's house palarva was really just a flash in the pan for her - and she probably never really liked it at the time, it was just the gig's that were good. i found her old shindig card the other day, mangled and still covered the dirt of the riverside. - so i'm starting to doubt the legitamacy of the "no-drugs" policy in our household.

to appreciate it i probably would of had to be there, but as i said before i was 4, being looked after by some-one - while me mam was at the events. which is really strange come to think of it.

not quite, moby's play album was class, didnt like his older stuff tbh, he did a live show not long ago playing his quicker stuff and he just looked right out of place too.

and since i havent heard much of 86 - 89 chigcago house music, i cannot really comment.

i still stand to dislike the mass majority of it though. can't stand the stuff, like ket on sundays.
