Have you actually been to the Middle East Joe? Granted, there are some countries that have been massively influenced by the west (parts of the UAE, Bahrain etc), but to say that the west has corrupted the rest is a gross overstatement.

I'd say there isn't a middle eastern country that hasn't been touched by western influence - it starts @ the top (the rich & powerful) but eventually it will corrupt all.

And in answer 2 ur q. I've never been.

the lack of basic human rights in the middle east shocks me.

i for one will never visit that area of the world again as i'm sure is the same for the rest of my family.

I wrote that on the 15th (EDITED TODAY I HAD BIRMINGHAM SHOULD HAVE BEEN LONDON) and look what happens the bloke has been in the news non stop.


His name is Abu Hamza.
He gets £372 (£40 disability+£80 incapacity+£80 mobility+55 income support+£10 gas money+£80 housing benfit+£27 council tax benfit) off the goverment.
He classes the UK as an infidel state, when he was asked about getting money off an infidel state he said 'It is peanuts to what you take off our countries'.
He says his hand injury is off a mine blowing up other Muslims say it was chopped off because he is a thief.
He says Britain is a country of 'OBSCENITY' didnt stop him being a doorman in Soho.
He is a pal of Bin Layden and he tried to justify 9/11
The Uk can not send him to the Yemen where he is a wanted terrorist because he will get the death penalty!! Seems fair to me but the UK is bound by human rights.

THE GOOD NEWS IS HE MAY BE ON HIS WAY AT LAST. IT SEEMS HE WAS INVOLVED IN RECRUITING FOR AL QAIDA IN THE USA AND THE FBI WANT TO HAVE A 'WORD'. I HOPE WE SEND HIM THE UK WILL BE SAFER PLACE WITHOUT HIS SORT.

have u any figures to back up what you're saying, that most asylum seekers aren't bogus? ie a percentage of asylum seekers who take up paid work within 6 months of entering the country?

even if there was such figures, it would be totally misrepresentative becuase to be honest it sounds like no ones got any fucking idea of how many asylum seekers there are..

They have exact figures on how many asylum seekers there are u numpty... we're not talking about fucking illegal immigrants.... don't be so ignorant.

they have figures on how many people have applied for asylum, and will have figures on who have successfully claimed asylum, but its the others who fade away in the population, those who's application failed is what i refer to.

he's implying that every person who comes here is from such a country, i would think that in some cases something to that degree is true, but in others it may be just the case that they are coming here for a better start in life*

In some degree its true? I suggest you pay less attention to what you read in the mail.

The majority of asylum seekers that get granted asylum are fucking genuine of course a lot slip through (I think the system needs refreshing, but however strict/harsh you make it bogus asylum seekers will always get through). We're not talking about illegal immigrants - note the title "asylum seekers"... I think you've read too much bullshit in the papers and your getting your wires crossed... Learn to differntiate between asylum seekers and illegal immigrants, don't be so bloody niave.

We don't allow people in as asylum seekers who are seeking "a better start in life". Asylum seekers by definition are seeking asylum from persecution in their home country.

The system is meant to filter out economic migrants...... whether it does or not is another matter
