Whats your thoughts on asylum seekers

i think this statement sums up everything we can reasonably do about asylum seekers. they are innocent until proven guilty, all case should be considered, and providing our immigration service does it's research, we should have no problems with letting them in.

suggesting we turn away asylum seekers because 'they might not be genuine' is frankly, stupid. if we are careful about who we let in, then why should we worry that these people are here to cause harm to us? and yes, sure, some of them will want to come over here and sponge of the government. but how does this make those that do that any worse than the huge number of british layabouts who sit in their council house, doing fuck all all day? plus, im sure most of them, like us want to make a go of things, work hard, and try to make a future for themselves and there family.

also - i want to lay this down as a challenge to anyone who has said (or thinks about saying) 'they are only coming to sponge off us' - next time i read this, i want evidence to back that statement up. i want evidence that shows the number of immigrants who live in the uk, and the percentage of which are part of the workforce. if someone finds this evidence, and it shows that the percentage of unemployed immigrants is higher than the number of unemployed residents - then i will listen to your arguement. if someone says that again, and displays NO evidence, i will ignore it.

because i think people have already expressed thier opinions on this thread. now is the time for evidence. see what the REAL story is.
