i used to love the old promise roll call threads, the photos going up from the night before. this board has been good a few times since promise@ foundation stopped but in recent times it's got pretty low. but i always say, i'm part of the problem as i'm part of the community

i'm going out less and less nowadays, money/lifestyle is a big issue but also less takes my fancy, there's just something missing for me in newcastle nowadays - whether it's the crowd/atmosphere/venue - i'm not sure. it could just be old age but i still love the music, i just can't find the excuse to go out anymore.

and when i say crowd, it's not the people i actually GO with but the people that are there once i get there - it's a different vibe even to 4 or so years ago.

i dunno, same faces, same venues, same expectations - i've done the night in my head before i've even got out

as much as i'd love to go out every week i can't - primarily because of work.

but since when did going out every week really be a mandatory condition to being a member of this board?

plus half the member's on this board now are whingy cunts that slag anyone new off, rather than the easy going way that the old promise boards went.

at the same time tho - i dont think these boards could ever dissapear - because i'm 100% sure that someone would put up for the domain etc.

or even worse - digital could buy it and we'd be flooded by the dreaded hangar lot

New people got it ripped out of them when it was the promise board. Its one of the more interesting things that happen. The people who take it are worth having.
Sort of like a right of passage :p .

I dont see what clubbing in general has to do with the board being so quite. The majority of convos have nothing to do with clubbing, and im pretty sure its always been like that.

As said earlier....... its the credit crunch

what the man of ... said is bang on

but also, the venues in newcastle are generally crap: in all honesty the best 2 venues that newcastle ever had were rockshotts and the mayfair, both are gone (r.i.p)

I will get accused of being misty eyed here, but there is something seriosuly missing about the club digital, ive tried countless times and i just dont have an affinity with the place

problem is they get all the biggest lineups so if there is a dj you really want to see , you are kinda forced to have to go there

but then you get crowds going for the names rather than the club

eg carl cox, armin, pvd etc... whihc is why when there are lesser lineups on the club is much much less full

cosmic ballroom used to be mint when it was in its honeymoon period and had just opened: but now every man and his rave monkey wants to promote similar nights there and you end up bored of the same venue even tho the cosmic is canny at the end of the day

add in credit crunch and crap pic and mix and you have an apathetic clubbing scene

before you start throwing around misquotes / accusations

you will find i responded to them dissing out hard dance nights

    by saying the following

    (1) the artwork is a rip of global underground - FACT

    (2) the grammar / punctuation is aplay on the way error_ set up the name FACT

    (3) they are one of a plethora of house / minimal / latest cool thing nights doing the rounds

FOR THE RECORD, anyone and I mean anyone can make the red rooms look busy

I am long enough on this board to know tho that your post is designed to kick off a ruck for your own entertainment

but I am most impressed tho at the habit PR machine making 150 the new number 300

isnt/wasnt "Error_" just a spin on the "M_nus" thing?

Not sure what the 150 to 300 business is all about, are you referring to the film 300 and and comparing its homoeroticism to Dannys dubious tshirts

I aint bleating on: what jaunt do / dont do has no impact on me,

but I just thought i would clarify mr quick stirring of the waters

my point in this thread was to explain why I thought this board is quiet - my answer still stands

my other point refers mainly to larger venues trying to fill nights

the red rooms / stereo / egypt cottage etc etc altho capable of cramming in punters are not large venues in the conventional sense and have layouts which inherantly means once you have 50 -100 people in they look busy and more than that and they look rammed.

and quick thats a good point re: the ''saviours'' t-shirts

I actauly think he truely must be the messiah, he used his clairvoyance to lead us to mr KHUNT
