loads of sites let you advertise nights for free.
Its healthy for the scene if the nights don't clash with promise i don't see a problem.

For gods sake its only a message board.

You sound a bit bitter Fizz.

hit the nail on the head .... first line!!

second line ... no bitterness here.. got nowt to be bitter about, im just saying it how it is..some people dont like to hear the truth.

all im saying is, promise is a business, i cant see how the message board has helped this business this past year.

and for the record, couldnt care what any of you think bout me or my posts lol .. thats laughable.

And, btw, I honestly believe this board serves a purpose for everyone.

Isnt my decision at the end of the day tho.

it does serve a purpose for everyone... for the board members lot it's somewhere to have a bit banter... for mark and co its a way of guaranteeing traffic to the promise site so that people know what promise is and when it's on.

There's no such thing as bad publicity... having a message board increases awareness about promise. When i started going out (outside of consett) I knew fuck all about promise. I found out what kind of night it was looking at the banter on the board and looking at the listings posted on the site. I would be lying if I didn't say that reading the board and people's opinions influenced my decision to try it out back in 2001, and it defo made a difference when I met quite a few board members the second time (GeordieLee, Orbit, etc).

Having a "What's On" forum that isn't moderated by more than the current 3 people is always gonna cause problems... What's needed (as I've already suggested before) is a minimum post count before you can post in the what's on forum or more mods for that forum only. Or the most straightforward solution... get shot of it.
