When I posted the original question, all I was asking was whether the change in musical policy was a deliberate one.

I guess from the replies that it was. Fair enough.

From my point of view I'm dissapointed. Promise was the first club to offer true house music on a Friday night in Newcastle for as long as I could remember. I remember at the time thinking it was a brave move and one that should be congratulated. For a time it could ably compete with Bugged Out, Tribal Sessions, Union etc as a quality night out.

But I guess the money is a bigger issue than the music.

As a previous writer commented, Nice was a great night in its time - I still recall great nights at Rockshots. I never expected it to be reborn at Promise.

Just Visiting you were probs a bit unlucky in the week you ended up coming along. I dont think weve had hard house on before last week (unless Tisserra counts and i werent there so im not sure). Had you been the week before for example when Guy Ornadel played you may not have come away with such a bad opinion. Im into pretty much the same djs you mentioned originally like Tyrant, Pappa and Warren but theyre not gonna get booked and sadly theres nowhere within 80 miles of here booking them. So to me the likes of Ornadel and Corvin Dalek are the next best thing i can see locally. Also Promise does have an unbeatable atmosphere and that makes up for a lot.

Rob Tissera and Eddie Halliwell have both played hard house and I know of at least 3 dj's in the near future that will also play hard house... But then we get prog every week!

Every Hard House dj to of played promise has had an amazing response... your in a minority mate.

Wasnt at Tiserra. Haliwell did indeed slip in a couple of HH tunes but in the main played trance sets.
