me too. its definatly not the way to do things. the Gov will never backdown, as i will show weakness, and opend the floodgates for similar action across the public sector......do the firemen not see this?

on the nite of the first strike my m8 had a car crash, becuase the firemen refused to allow the green godesses to use the cutting equipment or free the lad himself then had to risk causing him further injury by dragging him from his written off car.............

the crash was not his fault but because of the strike it could have been alot worse 4 him!!!!!

Exactly, we pay taxes mainly for our security, why should we the people chance death because they cant get demands met, surely there is a more amicable way to sort this, also, since when could the firemen dictate who could and couldnt use the equipment, correct me if im wrong, but dont the government buy it??????

just a thought, but do you recon the firemen are jumping on the bandwaggon because of what happened in america, where firemen after were considered god's. could the firemen be using that to make the current respect for the firefighters to continue on to public support for a pay rise for them! just a thought

The firemen are pissing me off because....

Its illegal to burn anything but smokless fules in sheffield but they all sit outside the firestation having a bonfire all day every day. Why don't they just put some walmer clothes on and stop wasting the natural resources and breaking local laws.

    IT MAKES ME MAD!

i think the government leases out the equipment to private companies, so they have the rite of refusal

Could well be, it they are then that is not on, those guys died doing what they did best, saving lives, at the minute ours arent, they are leaving it in the hands of people who dont fully know what they are doing, its just scary as to what the outcome will be.

I wonder what would happen it something such as the twin towers attack happened here, would they all cross the picket lines????

Some already have across the country but some say they are staying there no matter what.

its funny how this thread started , coz it looked to me like it was going to be another" ooooooooooohhhh the firefighters are great they need more money,"

but refreshingly thats not the case!

I think that the gov' should just dig in and play the waiting game. The firemen will be pretty pissed off when they get about half their normal pay for this month.

    I think they will crack.

in that case then they wud go in but only after making it as safe as poss first but if the building was empty then it'd burn to the ground!!!!

even tho u have 2 jobs & debts do u not at least try to live within your means (well - ish!!!) but the fireman who i was referring to was on the news stating that he cudn't afford to live but had all these extra's that he could'v elive without........

(the wife & kids were extra charges altogether!!!!)

& i agree i don't think either want to back down!!!!

    a while.

ROB - did i read u were @ Promise tonight?

Firemen - they will crack soon i reckon. They are gonna cause more probs for themselves! with any pay rise, the Gov are gonna want the working practices changed! so no more early retirment, big pensions, loads of well paid sick leave!!

Iam with Tony blair on this one..

The firemen went into the job knowing what the wage would be,So why the fuk do they go on strike now..its because theyve got a big fat cat union leader thats on £80k a year plus bonus, who just wants to cause trouble, and in the end he wants to be a hero to all the firemen.Look at the situation when the miners strike was on!

The army are coping reasonably well, but the should not be putting out fires when there a world war 3 about to errupt with sadam whats his face. And if the firefighters think that there jobs are dangerous, why dont they swap with the army whom are on much less pay than themselves, and are in a job with a greater risk of being killed. If i was in the army i say NO iam not doing the firemans job .

And now that fat FBU leader is complaining about a combined call centre..Bacause the police, fire, ambulance will have a combined control room next year at a cost of £3m with all the modern equipment an all that, and the FBU leader wants the fire dept bit closed off..he got that wish granted by them putting glass windows round to seperate them from the rest...and he's still moaning because when the doors are open the room will be one.

COURSE IT WILL BE DAFT CUNT!!

No sympathy whatsoever for the firefighters..end of

    :D

P.S iam also a nice guy
