    Obviously we have the luxury of 'choice' (however you feel about or define it) in the 1st world, so the life we have for the taking has a different scale to that of less fortunate people.

    I dont think its human nature to do that.... which is why we are in the mess we are in today, where greed has threatened the lives of tens or hundreds of millions.

    I suppose the problem is massive wealth being controled by a very small number of people .... Capitalism on a small, say capped, scale might be the answer.

    By virtue of simply being born? Pretty much nothing.

    By virtue of living in (and contributing to where able) a society? Being treated with respect and without prejudice.
