The only thing I would change in the club atm would have to be the DJ stand. It looks utter gash, protrudes far too much into the room and spoils the layout.

Most people have already raised the points I would make, trying to compete with shindig directly by putting on a night with the same music is a big mistake. What mark has done so far has been to try and provide an alternative with more soulful stuff. In my eyes that was the right thing to do... Most of what joe has said has been spot on too IMO.

What about stuff like dnb, rnb, hip-hop etc? There's plenty of music genres amd scenes that aren't being represented at digital...

    putting out of its misery.

might as well be realistic, every market is cornered in this city.

    RIP.

I take my hat off to the wax on boys, they're ballsy as fuck with their line-ups... some mind numbing line ups.

however drum and bass always sounds better in a drum and bass club... the atmosphere is better - you dont want pretty mincers like myself - you want grime.

Its like roots manuva @ the sage... good to hear the music but the atmosphere is lacking.

Any drum and bass night in newcastle would be hard to beat turbluance - its nationally respected and has some superb line-ups.

Thats a load of shite. There wasn't a problem with foundation before digital opened when promise/shindig/wax:On all ran side-by-side and there still isn't now.

It just needs some fresh nights to lure more people in and probably a refit to go with it.

I wouldnt mind having somewhere to sit, cos you can never get a seat in the corner, but being able to hear yourself think while your sitting. Main reason I go home early is cos I get tired of dancing and then bored cos cant sit down and chat to someone. The lure of bed at home is too much :p

Digital seems to be the cool new place to go - students will flock there mid week once they're back... i love foundation for what it is - a dark, warehouse type underground club - basic, industrial - it's got a great feel - but it's gotta get the nights right. it needs a chill out bit, some new seating areas where you don't get your clothes dirty when you sit down and the air con need turning up a bit... the balcony needs something doing with it - open the upstairs out a bit, make it more of a place to stand, chat, drink... another bar maybe?

i hope Promise, as a night, doesn't go... i'm not cool enough to go to Digital regulary :(
