You can get the location of the vehicle from the plate. Admittedly its only really worth doing if you own a high value car thats worth tracking down. :)

I was really close 2 buying a GTV like, interior is really nice. only thing that worried me a bit was reliability, but i reckon its ppl jus jumping on the band wagon

got a celica in the end, fuckin love it! its bit under powered tho, its 140bhp, but insurance is cheap ish

thats not my car, mines black

Most of the stuff said about alfa's is just hearsay - in all fairness once they make it through their first 10-20k miles, then most of the problems they left the factory with have been fixed

They can be a proper money pit if you buy a bad one, but from what im experiencing at the moment.... they are proper 'drivers cars' :)

i generally like alfas. as you say they are proper drivers cars. a friend has a 2.0 147 and has always raved about it, despite the teething probs it had to begin with.

they are well built in structural terms, however i think there does seem to be a tendancy for electrical problems.

i think the lines and shape of the cars easily make up for anything like that though. they stand out despite not costing a small fortune.

:( I would like to change my car, im a bit bored with it , what kind of decent thing can a girl get which is ok on insurance, no too expensive for 2nd hand and has a bit of poke?

most of the things i want quotes on, i cant insure myself on - either the age of the car or my age prevents :( I am 20 live in jesmond and my profession is financial services.

can get insured on a Mini One, but it will cost me 8K to buy new, and i dont want to be in debt forever.

    :(

not bad for a 2003 1.4 C3 it would be about 4 grand, which i can get at just under 200 for 2 years in a loan,

and my insurance would only be £600

cheers alex, jeez, useful for something  :p

Alfa's are notorious for being really BADLY built - complete opposite. They are designed and built by italians who put alot of thought into the driving experience with the suspension, engine and gearbox........ but are then let down by iffy electrics and the like. That aside - it feels like a real sports car - first gear pulls for ages and you can start it in second cause the engine has enough poke :)

The wheels might not be to everyones taste (which is wierd cause i really like them) but remember they have to suit both sporty types, as well as grandads and company directors - you cant go too extreme with them like you can with a golf GTi or other traditional 'hot hatch' motors.

Sold my beloved GTV today after a years pricey ownership. :(

..... A new job means it would be sitting doing nothing since i dont have a 'regular' commute anymore. So im flogging her and will buy something even faster in a few months time :)

Italian cars rock! Total drivers motors.

(even if they cost thousands to run )
