    cant beat the old cars like,i love mk1's,my lass has 1..just sold a cossie last week:( but still have meastro and 72 bettle ready for crome and slaming:D

    Is there a huge £ difference between automatic & manuel gear car?

    I posted in this thread hoping it would attract the boys & girls who know there motors.

    Automatics are less economic, even more so if you're not experienced driving them and it's flicking up and down the gears all the time.

    They put a bit more stress on the engine, due to it naturally high revving.

    They're awful to drive in icy conditions.
    Expensive to fix if they go wrong, if you don't have to replace the whole box.

    But they are great for city driving, long stretchs of straight road, they are pretty smooth and take a lot of hassle out of driving.

    Manuals consume less fuel, you have more control of your car in adverse conditions but can prove less economical in city driving. And you have to move your hand every 2 mins.

    actually ive just realised you asked about money difference :lol:

    automatics are usually slightly dearer, i think youll find as you go up the ladder to better and more expensive cars the price gap will get a little bigger too.

    them audi's always looked better without the fin on the back, just a shame they wouldnt stay on the road and had to be recalled :lol:

    I drive abike as a drink driving offence means I will not be behind the wheel for a good few year yet been quoted 5k plus for insurance!

    I couldnt stop myself from revving it on the way home every chance i got just to hear that engine roar! Feels like your being kicked in the back when you accelerate hard! :love:

    I love peoples reactions when they first get a BM. there's a lad at work got one a couple of months ago and cant stop coming in and telling me all about every journey!! :lol:
