    Re: Wax:On

lol - 109 billed acts... we've had precisely um er fuck knows how many billed acts on at freaky, I couldn't even work out exactly how many parties we'd done last time I tried... how long did it take you to add them all up?

Dave Clarke and The Stanton Warriors on the same bill is a class line up whichever way you look at it - I shall be in attendance, probably spending most of the night running between the 2 rooms

psst - last time stantons were meant to play for me at Subway they cancelled coz one of them had fucked up and booked a holiday flight the next day from london at 8am which there was no way of them making if they played their set up here, and he chose a beach in thailand (or somewhere like that) over a night in newcastle... doh:rolleyes:

errrr yeah that's only for you though.

You're just unlucky they didn't want to play when you were there.

I like wax on, it's hardly as if a bunch of con artists are operating in the newcastle club scene.

I went to 3 events, and on all 3 occasions, the DJs cancelled.

Therefore, for the times i have been to Wax:On, thats 100% cancellation record.

    How can you argue that?!

    Super clever

Wax On's no worse than Promise used to be for cancellations.

Been to Wax On loads, and the only cancellation was when John Dahlback didn't show.

    I'm there:finger:

PS. Dan is in no way trying to make people not come to this event. Infact if he was'nt going i probably would'nt as he asked a few of us to come instead of going to Junior G.

    :)

errr yeah but you missed out that bit earlier.

    Therefore it's completely irrelevant.

Stop being awkward, you know very well that i am talking about headliners. What do you care anyway its not as if its your night?? fucks sake.

Rossy, you are missing the point, if i go to a night, regardless if i dont go that often, and if i go to that night to see a particular DJ, and he no-shows, its natural to be dissapointled.

So its not irrelevant at all.

Maybe be more precise then if you're gonna tar a night with such a shitty brush.

My point was statistics show you and dan are talking shit. Wax on is bring a lot of different artists/djs to newcastle who wouldn't really normally be up there. It's embarssing how some people find it so easy to shit on them. If wax on weren't doing what they do, then the same people who are whinging about a handful of no-shows would be whinging about a lack of cutting edge house/breaks night in newcastle.

I live in Newcastle, and I'm fucking glad to have Wax On here.

I may not go to every one, and I didn't go every week before it went monthly, but it adds something you can't get elswhere in the North, and is a fucking good night.

Everyone I've been to see has turned up, and I've always enjoyed it.

The 2many DJ's opening party at Digital ranks as one of my best ever nights in Newcastle.

Why do you see that as being such a problem?

I'm from Newcastle, I'm there about once a month, I take an interest with what's going on in and around the city, I like clubbing/dance music...

I think they're all valid reasons for coming on a newcastle clubbing board don't you?
