It was as good as i expected/hoped until the point where he blows the machine/alien up at the end then i think the writers must have heard the bell for playtime and just decided 'they all died and the world was saved' :( It looked nowhere near finished then all of a sudden everything was ok again (bar a few red plants and a bit of mess).

And the son at the end.. I agree he shouldnt have been there thats another 'playtime is coming' trick that was used back in primary school. "The brother, sister, mummy and daddy, grandpa and grandma all lived happily ever after".

I'd say 7/10 purely due to the cack ending.

Went to see it on Fri night and was Impressed, don't really like Tom Cruise but thought he did an excellent job:)

Really gripping stuff, did end a bit abruptly but how else were they gonna do it:p

    Good stuff, highly recommended:D

wasnt particularly impressed with it. Had some good bits mainly due to the special fx but it was very poorly paced, like some sections such as them hiding in the basement from the tube thing that went on for like 25 mins or something was gettin rather boring. a lot of it just didnt make much sense and the ending was shite. Fair play to cruise he did a good job of his character tho.

went to see this last night.. what an absoloute abortion of a film...

tom cruise yet again fails to bring anything credible in his 'acting'... what pissed me off most is what a complete waste of an oppurtunity this film was... had it been less 'losely' based on the book it might have fared far better instead it rapidly digressed into a schmulzy cheese laden smegfest...

    crap.

if you want to get real war of the worlds, by the cd or read the book...
