sad but true, vinyl's on its way out!!!

always be a big vinyl fan but i can honestly say i love CDJ's just as much!!!, so much more u can do on them, manipulating, and cutting up tracks!!!, still always use vinyl, but cd's are slowly taking over!!! its alot cheaper aswell, the way the net is now. u can dowload any track u want for free and that appeals to alot of people including meself!!! sometimes it just gets to expensive!!!

Me and JP have been playing with Ableton Live, mixing and editing live. It's not as hard as people think, it's quite time consuming loading the music onto the PC but is quite user friendly and the results are very impressive.

For those of you that play CDR's: do you pay for your downloads or download off a file sharer?

unless it is vinyl recorded onto cdr, or put straight on by the producer, then cd's will never sound as good!

i play a lot of cds but it is unsigned stuff (mostly 192mp3s), promo cds or re-edits!

i wouldn't play downloaded mp3s in any club with a decent system really as it won't sound pretty!

Anyone dj downloading tracks off soulseek then playing out at a club / bar is well offside imo.

Back to the original question, yes, vinyl is going. I want to start mixing again. I have no decks at the moment, but Im thinking about buying 2 cdj 1000's rather than turntables.
