The families of the victims were involved from the beginning and all gave their blessing. Awesome film, I watched it the other day and was gripped. It was really interesting but so sad to watch. I read a review the other day that said even though you know what happens, there's a tiny part of you that hopes the ending will be different - totally true.
It's more of a '999' style film as opposed to a titanic blockbuster so it's not as if it's being sugar coated with the main man, his new found lover and close calls jack baur style. It's purely a representation of what probably happened and in no way mocks the familes of the victims imo. I don't see anything wrong with this seeing as the families gave permission. Saying all the profits should have gone to the familes is a daft statement to make though because it means everyone working for months for no money. It would also seem as if someone is saying 'here's a load of cash because your son/daughter/father.. died.'
aye but its not fair for studio companys to profit from peoples misery. like i said after it broke even and everyone got paid the rest should have went to the families and a memorial
There have been tons of films that have been based on the real-life misery of others. Big events happen then books and films are made about them. I think this is just causing a bigger stir because of the time gap.
this is out on dvd in about 2 weeks on play247??? is it the same movie??? the one on play says "made for us TV"
