True. Not only that some parents would blame the club for letting underage people in maybe sue?

    It's a shit life innit?

Back to the youth club's kiddies ;)

Do you think the age limit is too high? If you look at it this way though...you can be responsable parents at the age of 16 but cant drink alcohol till your 18? Or is the age limit too low for having sex?

    ...?

Can I put my serious hat on for a min?

The door staff do all they can to stop underage peeps getting in. If they see anyone who looks youngish they will ask them for ID and will turn them away if they have none.

No club can stop all under aged peeps but IMHO Foundation have a responsible door policy.

An almost impossible question to answer as different people can handle things when they are far younger than others. Some never handle things at all! Unfortunately the line has to be drawn somewhere. I think.

I think the sex age laws are there to protect kids from adults, not kids from themselves.

Did you know that humans are growing up quicker each year, not just mentally but biologically! The average age for a girl to start her period has dropped by 4 years in the past 100 years (I think that is right). It was on the bbc program about teenagers.

Basically when it comes down to it there are laws to stop under age peeps and they are there for the simple fact that the majority of under 18's cannot act accordingly in a club. Aslong as they don't annoy me and don't endanger the clubs licence then i have no probs with them.

If it was my world we'd be able to take "responsible alcoholic" tests where, at any age you felt appropriate, you would be tested on having the equivalent amount of alcohol of a night out on the razz and then placed in a room around various provoking situations (i.e a trouble maker, big fat ugly slag etc.) to see if you respond inappropriately (start fighting with trouble maker, shag big fat ugly slag etc.) or not. Then if you've proven your ability to get absolutely sloshed and still behave, then you would be allowed in clubs and pubs and would get an ID card to prove it.

After all, no one is allowed to start driving at 17 by themselves until they've passed their test are they?? And it should be noted that there are those amongst us that are well over 18 that do crazy things once they're drunk (which is why I don't take drugs!). That's unfair on the under-18s who would behave responsibly under the influence, if there are any.

Problem with clubs is that once young uns are past the bouncers, they probly wont get axed for id off bar staff cos a) the bar staff rely on bouncers to stop young uns, n b) cos its git freakin loud anyway. I know this cos I bring id to Promise but once Im passed the bouncers, whether ive been asked or not, I dont worry bout gettin ID'd at the bar!

There's some good points brought out in this thread!! I dont really care what age is in the clubs now, firstly cos Im not chanced to pull an underage bird as Ive got a lass n secondly cos age isnt important, its how the person conducts themselves. There are a lot of arseholes over 18 but canny people under so Id say chuck the arseholes out and keep the... what's the opposite of arseholes????. Anyway, keep the canny people in!!

    ;) One Eyed
