When i moved into my new place we got a letter, then 2 days later a bailiff came round and said we had to set up a direct debit. He said they go all round jesmond when the new students move in
I've had them to my house in Liverpool last year, they do have signal detectors and they do fine your ass if you don't pay. They can also gain access to your house through a police warrant.
Yeah thats right if there is a lock on the bedroom doors then u need 1 liscence for like each room if it has a t.v. I know some one who got fined £300 for not doing that. The steepest fine is £1000 but she said that they didn't realise that rule about locks on doors. Still £300 is quite a lot.
Bailiff they are just TV licesing who ask u to set up a weekly DD. DONT ANSWER THE DOOR TO ANYONE YOU DONT KNOW. is the first rule of living in a shared house.
pikes right they don't have signal detectors, total urban myth. If they did have them why the fuck do they knocks on peoples doors who have a tv license, if they can scan for signal then check if there is a tv license signed at that address, the fact is they can't they just knock on everyday and ask.
