    Sorted, just formatted the fucker there and hopefully i dont need to do this again for a while seen as it was only done the other month.

    Would people say its v.important now i download AVD / Spybot / Ad-Aware and keep with windows Firewall or even get rid of that?

    you need to have avg running all the time, keep windows firewall, theres nowt wrong with it - install adaware for routine checks and keep spybot handy for just incase :up:

    an alternative to avg is avast which i recommend - however, others will tell you theres nowt wrong with avg, which i agree :)

    And Tuneup Utilities - Not sure if you tried it, but it's very user friendly, and will let you sort out a range of things and scans for registry errors etc. Also lets you skin windows so you can change the colour/style of the taskbar etc etc.. quite a nice piece of software :D

    tbf i never bother with AVG's or spyware protection, i just re-format when i need too.

    although with the new laptop they gave me a year's free sub to McAfee, which is actually quite good - although a massive rip off if ya pay for it.
