    Oh come on Joe - not that I'm sure what you're proposing, but the US army is overstretched in Iraq and Afghanistan alone and can't hit its recruitment targets.

    Oops, now I read the article, I see there is going to be a debate :oops:

    Why is it there is always plenty of money available for illegal wars and nuclear weapons, and yet when I want some research funding there isn't any, or when the hospital wants to refurbish some antiquated ward it has to paid for with a loan + interest?

    cos the people in power are always the ones who are REALLY interested in power. Can you see them voluntarily giving any of it up?
    Tony says he could live with just three subs instead of two and 160 WMD instead of 200.
    who are they targeted at?
    for the money they are going to cost we could have made the NHS the best in the world.
