    I went every where

I went everwhere to see de vit from 96 onwards

I even saw him at a night called ga ga at NE1 that used to be madisons and is now a gym and at the start of sundissential north in 97

The difference between him and all the other hard house muppets and wanabees around here now is that he acatually realised at the end of the day that he was just playing records and he would always have time to chat to you unlike the likes of andy pickles etc. who call the people that pay their wages muppets

My mate anthony used to go and see him play at trade all the time and one time when he played up here gave him a lift to his hotel.when the promoter had done off. I told him he should have got him to sign the dash board.

Anyone who listened to de vit live in tel aviv on the first global underground boxed set will realise de vit was more than just hard house. its a pity fergie never followed the path of the great man like he was supposed to.

Thats why hard house is very much maligned, many of the djs playing it bang it out from start to finish with no progression from
funky house up to the tear your head off stuff.

We asked him to play black is black is black by the allnighters in Europa in 97 and he did. Which dj on the scene would do that for you now . Answer none!

Spence I would hardly refer to him as nu nrg.

IN THE WORDS OF DE VIT HIMSELF HE WAS HARDBAG

(and that was him sending himself up)

"The category nu-nrg was derived by Tony's own unique sound and is still going strong today, many DJ's are now turning their backs on stereotyped "Hard- House" tracks in favour of the type of material TDV used to play."

The problem with HH is that there dont seem to be any variations in the pace of the tunes that anyone other than a totally wasted cyberkid, or a true fan of the music... would have the energy to go out clubbing to.

The TDV tokyo cd, like all the GU series to a point - took a genre of music and crafted a set around it, which had something that the average HH set doesnt... a beginning, and end... and more importantly - a point.

Hard house needs to evolve and develop some bleeding edges that people can enjoy as part of a bigger package (which trance CAN say it definately does have)

Till then... its a pity that a DJ who died a good few years ago STILL stands head and shoulders against the current crop.

    IN MY OPINION.

its going nowhere, like hard trance its hitting walls everywhere it goes, the tracks sound the same, the djs play the same tracks and this is reflected in the clubbers who have formed a mass exodous from the genre in the last few years... theres a limit to what you can do with hard house, imo lab4 are the only ones who have any distinct style or what someone on here described as the 'x-factor'...
