Far as I know the police can only do a drug test if you've been arrested for something else. They won't be able to raid a club and demand blood or urine tests off everybody in there, so calm down kids

that's exactly who it is aimed at, so when they pick up charvas for burglary they can then do them for having an armful of smack as well. result

I posted about this a few weeks back and although that use of it might be good... how about when you combine it with 'stop and search', anti terror laws or indeed any of the governments new wave of laws which essentially give them the right to stop any old person they dont like the look of and bundle them into the back of a police van.

And lets face it, we cant even punish burglars properly once we've caught them (not that we make much of an effort anyways), maybe we should work on that one before we try convicting them for other stuff.

Im just sceptical of absolutely anything this government tries to bring in right now - Especially since its 'wartime' and anything can be sold to us on the back of 'fear'.

they do, at the moment, seem to be pushing thru/coming up with lots of draconion bills to limit freedom, all in the name of 'anti terror laws', and because of other issues making top billing (some blind chap knobbing his nanny and a war somewhere or other where soliders, trained to kill, are having to shoot guns - the shock of it!) these are passed relatively quietly.

Treating drug use as a criminal problem just makes the situation worse.

It seems that everything that is getting passed through Parliament is becoming more and more regressive, won't be long until we're all mindless drones keeping the system going...

Remember the super police dog that the local TV used last xmas to scare the kids into no doing drugs? The TV and papers made out it was patroling clubs and queues in the city forever when in fact it was used for about a week.

Its like "TV detector Vans"........ a myth started by the goverment to scare and put off people with small Iq's.

    Could drive clubs into bankruptcy:confused:

The stupid thing is that our taxes will pay for all this. Wouldn't it be cheaper to legalise and control it?

I heard something on the local news yesterday that in Sheffield, the police were putting up temporary airport to style security to search for weapons and finger dabbing to test for drugs:mad: :fuming:

Even if it did become law the police wouldn't have enough resources to police it, the police knows exactly whats going on in clubs like promise. Police have more problems dealing with beer boys fighting in the bigg market to tackle anything else on a fri/sat night.

After xmas tho, police are supposed to be cracking down on drug drivers, they are bringing in tests from America to spot drug drivers and have a pupil chart to compare your pupils to what they should look like. Also they are going to ask you to count to 30, if your too slow you may be stoned, if you count too fast you may be on coke

At rupublic and bed you used to have to empty your pockets and go through a metal detector, not so much at republic but you always had to do it at Bed
