Mark - the above one is the most typical. I hear that one all the time with people who are in front of me. I just keep my head down behind these people and I somehow manage to get in, but that one was used on my two mates were were so-so smartly dressed, no names or nothing. The bouncers need to be re-trained, or the fliers saying 'friday's best' must become more specific.

All i hear in the queue 'not tonight lads, not tonight'

You know these, but I feel that far too often the bouncers turn people away because they can, and not for a genuine reason.

If someone so much as laughs in the queue that's their night wasted.

When you came on the door on the 20th it was a big help, but sometimes i also feel the bouncers do it out of sheer boredom.

I for one have DJ`d in many pubs and clubs across the north east, when you goto a club regularly as staff you get to know the bouncers, and once it reaches this stage I ALWAYS ask them, why is it that you stop people from coming in for no reason, and everytime i get the replys, cos we can, cos we get bored stood here in the cold, cos we dont like the look of them, to show we arent push overs, etc.

You get my point, its done for absolutely no fucking valid reason, ill tell you one thing as a very successful business person, without the clubbers/punters, the club wouldnt be a club, itd be nothing.

If one person is causing this, then dont you think you should get rid of him/her, it would be a shame to see so many regulars leave, because there scared of being refused entry to the club they love and adore because of one guy. He may be good at his job but he obviously isnt professional if it gas came to this. And lets face it, professionalism is required in this market.

Dont you guys think youd better sort something before it gets out of control?

And please dont give me the normal excuse, `the bouncers are supplied by Foundation, take it up with them`. Its your night, you deal with it!!!!!!!!!!

I also have a bit of experiance in the leisure industry and Foundation's doorstaff are as good/professional as any other club I have worked at.

    They do a good job.

Yes they do a good job, but not good enough, if people are being turned away for stupid reasons, reasons which frankly arent good enough, then something needs to be done about it, come on, do yous actually have any intentions to do anything about it??

That's a pretty good idea - I personally haven't had problems yet but i've only been twice, just always keep my head down - but if this does happen I'll send you a PM.

Honestly it has been a big worry each time i've went to promise as I know their attitudes - 'because i can, we get bored'.

Must be doing something right, no fights or anything in Promise - one of the reasons I love this club.
