It depends - things are moving slowly towards the american style of things where the waiters are relying on decent tips to make up their income .... having worked as a waiter before and knowing what they make, i dont have a problem with that

.... wierdly, the best service i ever got was at the mandarin oriental in hong kong where tipping is NOT expected, and they made you feel like royalty.

Maybe its a british thing ;)

Aren't you the same person who made so many 'Bushes lap dog' posts when Blair was in power

    Yeah i did

... what your doing though, young padawan, is making the fundamental attribution error in attributing my comments made towards an administration (and its leaders) ... against the population under their control, and twisting it back against me (crudely) as some kind of counter argument.

(tips cap) ... Iiiiiii thank you ;)

I havent lived in guildford for over a year m8 ;)

You are going to get absolutely raped on a taxi - figure on 50 odd quid during the day, and 80-100 quid in the evening from a Johnny Cab.

Your best off getting a taxi to woking, and hopping on the london train there (takes 23 mins).

It is 30 odd miles out of central london remember!

Even driving would take an hour odd (with no traffic).

.... What you up to in guildford anyhow - playing out?

I hate the bog trolls, everytime you go for a piss they start putting soap into your hands n giving u paper towels, then expecting a tip, people can wash their own hands.
