Thats how it use to be but people are losin out now with the net etc. Maybe im thinking to negative everythings just a bloody hurdle now for anyone new starting out
How is trance on it's arse because of Tiesto? It's a pretty doomed genre anyways if you lot rely on 3 djs to keep the scene going. Maybe he doesn't like trance anymore, don't you think after playing trance solid since the 90's he might be a bit sick of breakdowns? I don't really keep up with things now, but when I look through threads I see up and coming record labels like Micks and Che's with new producers, instead of wasting money buying Tiestos shite, go out and support new talent by buying their tracks and stop wasting peoples times whining.
God i completely disagree. You only need to listen to Sean Tyas or Menno De Jong's podcasts to know trance is well and truly kicking arse. If anything, the cost of entry is the lowest its ever been for a producer - everything can be done to studio standards for the cost of a few bits of software, and i'd like to bet nearly every producer started off with an 'evaluation' copy of their music software. At the end of the day you cant have mainstream artists playing underground music. The artists and producers that approach the big names for remixes will no doubt expect to hear their gash pop remixes played out live which probably explains the shocking tracklistings for some of tiesto's gigs. ..... But does ANYONE go to a tiesto gig expecting to neck a load of garys, talk shit and feel the love? They are like glorified concerts these days. With electronic music.
since i got into trance people have always said its been on its arse and gunna be gone soon, ive seen the big 3 dj's loads of times and NEVER been totally bowled over by the sets ive seen altho heard some fantastic ones online, i mean id rather see either markus shultz, ferry or jon o'bir, and theres plenty more id rather.
eh, trance isnt on its arse at all if anything it's getting much stronger in town, and nationally really good nights are getting in numbers and getting amazing lineups week in and week out. tiesto isnt really trance IMO, he's created some kind of shit sub-genre of his own. 'Stadium Dance' which IMO AvB and Deadmau5 are following slowely behind.
deadmau5 seems quite happy to play anywhere. Not seen what AVB's been doing live recently so can't comment there...
nah, Deadmau5 seems to be moving in the direction of solo gig's and tours (I.e, the O2 academy's up and down the UK) i think he'll stick with that since the ££ is much better
