It looks lush, but the script and plotting are genk.

The script doesn't ring true and the scripted parts aren't delivered very well by the cast, which in turn makes the usually brilliant meadows improv bits sit uneasily with the rest of the program.

I really like the lad who plays the leader of the bike gang, but he does seem to have driven in off another set.

Also, the wardrobe is great on first glance, but as far as I can remember about 1986, people did occasionally change their clothes other than when a plot point dictated it.

Saw some wrought iron detailing on someones wall during an outside scene. I think it was when Smell and Shaun were walking to Shauns. Sure that wasn't around in 86 like!

Apart from peoples nitpicks about things not being historically accurate (bet u enjoyed saving private Ryan tho), I think it's fantastic, I think Meadows style is quality and it's raw as fuck, especially the Loll/Dad story line. Can't see how people think it's shit, easily the best thing on TV..

Also that fight scene, I can see what you's mean but I reckon it's there to portray how much fighting was amongst society and taken far more lightly and in much better spirit than it is today.

Nah its just Meadows trying to be clever, the plots have fuck all to do with the 80's. Best mates shagging mates lass and dad bonking daughter? iv seen better on Eastys and Hollyoaks.

Try a storyline about the miners striker, living as a scab, being smashed to fuck by Paratroopers dressed as police.... being fucking skint and not tollerating any non English on your patch. The lack of racism in this has made the whole show pointless...

Find me one lad who would have a caught a brown curry loving brother in his house fucking his mother and wouldnt have used the words "get out you p*** bastard"

Fighting in much better spirt? iv never had some many knifes as i did in the 80's....and i even had a baseball bat with nails in that looked like something of a medevil battlefield. Check the terraces to see how good natured it was!

The nearest thing the Jaunt lads have been to a ruck is the fight for the Hair Straightners at 1930 on a sat night.

Have not seen this, biggest memory of 1986 every lad in middle ripping up the Argentina panini stickers after that Mardonna goal. It was also the birth of Pedro & Lineker as the England striker force. Great times well apart for dirty cheating Diego.

I was also bossing this game. Lose? Nee fucker could score past me never mind lose, sad day in Spence HQ when I went to bed & left it next to the central heating it never felt the same playing with one stand looking like a mixture of Bradford meets Heysel.

Pike remember those daft videos at school about flying a kite near pylons:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48VRPhPUmw8"]YouTube - Play Safe - Kites & Planes (1979) - Public Information Film[/ame]

Kids these days are more likely to be as a high as kites rather than flying them.

why aye i wasnt that daft. i got smashed by the rival BMX bandit group a few times and fell off a few high places and conker trees but no broken bones.

OH my best injury was when someone opened a skip door and it fell on my foot i was within a 1cm of losing my foot. Awesome

Really? I don't think that's the case at all.

I think the director just couldn't decide if it was meant to be a comedy or not/

i have long distant memories of riding around on my FS1E, wearing Tacchini trackie tops in 1986, however the fashion was matching them up with farah pants and kickers (thankfully, or maybe not :D)

Mad Men is the best thing on TV at the moment.

Boardwalk empire looks very promising though
