Right, this is no way a dig at the toon but i am interested to know geordies thoughts on the lack of money spent in the transfer window? Results seem to be going your way apart from the fa cup defeat and you's are now in the top half . I just don't understand how a club the size of newcastle cannot spend a single penny on strenghtening their side. Is there no money to spend ? Can you's no longer temp the players you once could ?

I think the fact is Roeder doesnt wanna wax millions on someone abroad when he's seen and the whole of Newcastle's seen what happens when they fuck up? The list is endless.

Lets face it Upson isnt worth 7/8 million and there was no one else so really getting someone on loan is probably a good thing cos if there shit we dont need to keep them?

I cant think of anyone decent ish who isnt happy at there club and would come here / is available?

Gurn John looks like he will do a job for Sunderland, probably light up that stadium as much as Shite Yorke has??

We have money availble but roeder wont just buy players for the sake of it , he sticks to his top targets and at present most of them are up for summer moves rather than january ones ... the likes of curtis davies and babel will be brought in in the summer along with a few others . i would have liked to have seen some more movement in january but apart from maybe villa there havent been a lot of clubs getting top players in ,in the premiership.

    depends what excuse you believe.

there are currently 3 doing the rounds, one from shepherd, the chronicle and roeder.

shepherd's - The attempts by the Halls to flog their majority shareholding in Newcastle United has made it difficult for the club to make new signings

ronnie gill - We're totally skint after Souness/Robson spunked the club's money up the wall on shite

roeder - The manager is refusing to buy stop gap players and is instead more interested in signing good young and upcoming players whose value to the club will increase over time and its proving difficult to get those players away from their clubs during the January window

i personally think it's a combination of all 3. the 2 companies who were interested in buying us only offically said they wouldn't 10 days ago which is probably when our tranfer window opened as shepherd wouldn't sanction any buys while this was going on. we probs are a bit skint and roeder doesn't wanna sign crap players

we were offered andy cole last night apparently which i would have loved to see him back but roeder turned it down.

As much as we made or shall i say Peter Beardsley made Andy Cole the player he is or was i wouldnt like him back.

Any player who sings along with there fans like he did when Man Utd won the cup about Keegan and Newcastle Utd isnt welcome here - he wants to remem what we did for him.

    Sorry Andrew Cole isnt it?

Yorkie is doing the business mate :). He's been playin well in the middle of the park. Like i said previously i don't think we need another striker and Stern john is an unusual signing but keane's judgement so far has been sound so i'm not gonna argue.
