If i remember rightly, back in the Promise days I think it was Pike who banned someone for being "too gay" for the forum.

I've been a member for 7 of the 9 years, 7 years is a long time and it seems alot less.

On the main topic, I agree on reducing the number of forums, possibly to 3 - general discussion, music and events?

How about events who advertise on here heavily get involved in competitions, maybe for guestys to events? Then advertising these competitions on event sites/myspaces etc may attract people to come and join the forum for the comp, and hopefully to get involved in the site.

The only problem with that is people might only join to enter the comps and then never post anything. Could say people have to have so many posts before they can enter or something similar.

Aye fair point, thats the risk you take with it. Its just a way of getting traffic onto the site, and the next battle is getting them to stay.

I'm more of a reader on here but thought i would see if i can input. But on the point above for doing the Nucastle night. Couldn't the people playing be the people doing the Podcasts, and perhaps having a Nucastle warm-up somewhere small where the less experienced people playing and have the more experienced people (Jaunt, Habit etc) playing at a larger place? Like Nucastlewarm-up and then the actual Nucastle night.

I've a forum i go on which has a star system, basically the more you post the higher you're ranked, i'm at silver, someof the regulars & mods have a gold star beside there name, & i've noticed on there people will use the board alot just to get the gold star keeps the board busy.

Theres another one where people are at Levels, level 1 being people with the least posts etc.

I don't post much now simply because not many others do,and you can come back a week later and the same thread will be top of the page, it's a shame like because there was loads of crack on here. I'll always check the site though and post now and then, hope it picks up again

I come on here to check out the "Going Out" section - its the best place to see whats on where in town. It does get seriously bogged down with wank adverts for shit events at the Syndicate or randoms round London like. But I do think this is the main reason for most people coming on here and potentially what all the lurkers in the background are interested in - perhaps you could stop guests looking at the threads to entice them in?

I have chipped in to the odd thread in General Discussion but most of the time cannot be bothered. There are far too many racist rants (teknofish) and conspiracy theories (roryspace) for my liking

The mixes sections been pretty dead recently so joining that and the music section may help like.

Yeah looks tidier. Not sure about the music bit being above the banter, but that may just take time to get used too.

There are some stickies in some sections that are well old like which could do with moving.

Also, shouldnt the podcasts bit be with the music section?

Finally! How do you get rid of all the idiot pr folks posting new releases from their record labels in the music section? It just gets filled up with crap and they contribute f*ck all else to the site

Looks good to me like, those belong up the top of the board IMO, after all it is a clubbing board lol.

Shud still have films & tv etc but down the bottom somewhere, and ermm, fuck nas, paint the place pink.

Going out would look better changed to events, dunno about what the rest of ya think.

Hopefully with the logo on some future events flyers the place will pickup
