apparently he made 1000's of random predictions in masses of documents throughout his life - but 2 or 3 were tenuously linked to random events - so it must all be true!

no, i'm saying because of the possible annihilation of the planet due to it all being unknown, we shouldnt do it.

but hey, footloose and fancy free may be the way to go when ya talking about killing off all life. u think?

there hasn't been any fire burning down from the sky for ages, so let them play with the god particle for a bit and we'll all save on central heating bills this winter

the strive to learn and find out things is a human trait. it's what makes us a species grow and evolve.

we've leant this much about the universe - it's the next logical step to investigate this theory of science - to get this far and then turn back is like James909 and his adversion to CDJs  WE HAVE TO MOVE FORWARD

yes i agree we have to move forward and that "the strive to learn and find out things is a human trait" but that doesnt mean we should risk the human race to do it! would you bring up the "now and next" to find out whats on if it meant ya tele might blow up? or would u just flick thru the channels?

If we all disappear at once it won't matter. The only crap thing about dying is that eveybody else is still here having a good time whilst you're not.

but if u just left it, you'd find out what was on anyways cause it eould just start! if we ignore this - we will never know!

and if someone never had the guts to fire up the first cathode ray tube there wouldn't be a telly in the first place

i think you missed my point.

aye but at most that would have caused slight injury, we're talking about the end of life here.

I'll bet there was someone on hand to say that making cathode rays might cause unknown problems.
Worse than the LHC by far is releasing genetically modified microbes into the world . once released they can never be got rid of. We only have to make one fuck up and we could wipe out all human life quite easily. Where's the panic about that?

    I didnt say you should

cds will never have the feel of vinyl FACT

the onslaught of downloads and cds etc has ruined the social aspect of going out and buying music for me

ps: I bumped into funsize in steel wheels yesterday buying some vinyl

    respect
