I showed my little lad that last week, he was over the moon. The following day all the kids in the street were riding round with them on.

Makes me all nostalgic thinking about doing that when I was that age, now my son is doing it, im old :(

jeremy healy - wtf was that all about?

warehouse parties in the ouseburn valley

reclaim the streets partying on motorways etc.

    mobile phones being a novelty

clubs closing at 2am so you got home in time for the essential mix (Newcastle)

shielding your eyes as you walked out of the club into the blazing sunshine at 6am, then went to the after hours club (Leeds)

The Orbit, Hard Times, Up Yer Ronson, Vague, Shindig having a techno room, Arcane having a techno room, Cream being just a clubnight in Liverpool,

    Chill out rooms in clubs

mr c chanting 'e's are good, e's are good' on top of the pops

waiting for the stone roses to get it together to release another album then working out they weren't god like geniuses after all when they released the second coming

smells like teen spirit... RIP Kurt, had you lived we might have been spared the foo fighters ;)

blur vs oasis, brit pop, sorted for e's and wizz etc.

John Barnes rapping over New Order

Glastonbury still having a travellers field, all night sound systems in every field, and it being quicker to walk through the holes in the fence than through the entrances even though you were working there

orbital, leftfield, prodigy, chemical brothers, daft punk, underworld blowing you away at festivals and converting a generation of indie kids to the rave

    etc etc

at one time - i think around 1994

jeremy healy was classed as on a par with sasha

now the only thing they share in common is a distinct lack of hair

mind you I did see him play an amazing chill out set on the terrace at space at a clockwork orange after party in 1999
