No offense intended here to anyone that lives there...

But who's ever decision it was within TM Promotions to move from Tree's to ANY Venue in Sunderland must be fukin crackers! theres no clubbing community? it's never had one as far as im aware?

Maybe they'll tap into unfound territory who knows? but I think to move from Tree's in Yarm which is a pretty central location & perfect for events of it's kind, to a City which has NEVER been recognised as a place for Clubbing then someone aint fully done their homework.

I know the Point have had a few Cream nights on there, numbers wise or anything else im not too sure of? I cant really think of anywhere else they'd be able to make it work without it turning into a Chav fest every weekend?

south shields clubbing has taken some battering over the years like , the best 4 nightclubs we ever had are either not here anymore or something else now :-

The Tunnel / Cellar Club is now a dentists
Images / Ikon is now an indian all you can eat / halal store
Oz is now a springs gym
Limelights is now just a car park

the clubs we have left are terrible, glitterball is like a bigger roxannes , roxannes goes without saying, dusk i cant get away with and vogue has mc's etc on now .........

True there m8. The only place i ever liked in shields was Eivissa, allow alot of the trance played there was commercial, was still a good night, fantastic club with so much potential, now it's sitting there empty with a for sale sign on, just wish sum fucker wud take it under there wing.

As for anywhere else in shields, it's all about the money. And dusk, havin people in from Big Brother etc, dunno what thats all about like :lame:

how much do you think these "celebs" cost? when i worked at the club it was only £1500 for callum best, cant see a Big Bro wanna be being anymore than that??

Do the math, its £6 to get in, 250 people in would pay the fee, plus clubs make atleast £3 profit on every £3.30 bottle they sell!!

exactly, just not on my street

Shields has the Clubbing community of sunderland, that statement sums both sunderland and South shields nightlife up.

Hypothetically - sunderland is what newcastle would be like if the only clubs in newcastle were blu bamboo and tiger tiger (and a club for the radgies to go to). proper gash.

    - Just thinking there, digital is the place where radgies go to now :(

Agreed, I used to work in Shields and eivissa wasn't the best venue for music but the inside is a really nice space if it ever re-opened for one off parties. The only place in sunderland I could see TM moving would be the point and to be fair the sound rig is fairly decent with the dj booth really high up, other than that I also agree with a previous post here, Dusk nightclub in shields is wank as far as music policy but again a really niche venue if someone took it over for the one night.

I've never really liked tall trees as a venue.... there's been soooo many rumours for years regarding tall trees being closed due to complaints from residents in the hotel or it being flattened and converted into real estate / apartments / houses etc but I guess with the housing crunch those plans got put to one side.
