cool, thats the same way my sister went into medicine. She did pharmacology at Newcastle and is now doing medicine at Durham :)

Lucien and Joe aren't the same person, Joe sometimes logs on out of the blue but hasn't posted in months.

lucien has very similar crack to joe!

it was always my intention to study pharmacology and then medicine. i got an offer to do it when i started pharmacology, but at a uni i didn't really want to go to. after finishing this degree, i'd like a little time off to travel again before i have to become sensible, then i'll do it (hopefully!) :cool2:

    apologies and no its not!

just from what you said i imagined that you were being condescending rather than knowledgable. so my apologies, as for sociology being a BA im sure the uni i am at does it as a BSc as do many other universities in the UK!

lucien - apology accepted, nee werries.

in terms of the BA/BSc variation in sociology, it seems a similar trend with economics and other social sciences - some unis award a BSc, some award a BA. i'm generalising here but i'd guess that older unis award a BA, polys award a BSc. massive generalisation though...

    mint.

and after seeing b.o.b's lse link, i retract my previous generalisation about shit unis awarding BScs in sociology.

a little point on the teesside link though, what on earth is 220 ucas points? CCD? how can a 'university' possibly condone letting people in with those grades?!
