No disrespect to board members but:

In the last 3 years, over 3 venues Sunday Trading has given out over 1 million flyers and 6000 posters at huge cost to it's regulars and myself who support an event (the only event) to provide something a little harder than what is available on a Sunday in Newcastle.

And remember also, when we started 3 years ago, there was no dance music played any where in Newcastle on a Sunday with ALL NIGHTCLUBS CLOSED and several of the pubs closed too. Those that were open were dead.

As soon as we got established at The Cluny and looked for a bigger, more central venue and told them what we were doing, rateher than let us have the venue, those venues started doing stuff themselves. SO WE AT LEAST PUSHED THE ENVELOPE AND PEOPLE COPIED OUR THEORY IF NOT OUR STYLE.

Sunday Trading's aim is to provide a platform for those people who want to DJ but would not normally get the chance to.

It is supported by it's resident djs who mostly have been there from day 1, and now, by the likes of Mark and the Promise team who recognise that ratehr than being a competitor, we are broadening the spectrum of what is available to people who like clubbing in Newcastle.

The £3 charge does not even go near to covering the costs that I have incurred in the last 3 years, and ST has never made a profit.

Stereo is a cool venue and Hed Kandi play nice tunes, most of which were gay disco hits before most of you were born. If that's your thing then go for it.

But if you want that last blast of the weekend to blow your cobwebs away then support Sunday Trading;) and the up and coming talent we are supporting.

Got to agree with what Neil just said.

Sunday Trading can be as laid back or as banging as you want it to be. It's a place to dance ya socks off and finish the weekend in style or merely to wind down after a hard weekend.

I think that those up and coming DJ's would agree that Trading gives them the opportunity to showcase their tallents, an opportunity that they would otherwise forego if Trading was not there. Where else in Newcastle gives such people the opportunity to get recognised, as well as entertain?

As well as those up and coming DJ's, Trading regularly showcases more established DJ's, such as Promise's own Kerry James, and more recently, Miss XS and Sarah G (Sundissential)!

Sunday Trading adds another dimension to the clubbing weekend and I'm sure that people will agree that it would be sorely missed if it were to cease. I feel that we should support ST to give clubbers a greater variety of musical choice and also to offer the opportunity for emerging tallent to be showcased.

    Thanks!

    *Rant over!* :p
