I would have more time for those who are honest, instead of those who use any media attention and scrutiny they get to push their own agenda. I'm talking about the slimy shits you see on TV who, when asked a question, don't answer it and instead toe the party line.

I would have had more respect for Clegg if he'd said - "I'm sorry, we can't fulfil our promise" and then quit. He made it a central point of his election campaign (one of the reasons I voted Libdem), and then the moment he's in government, he goes back on it.

One of the tory bloggers made a good point this week - the government is making students pay their own way so it can afford to replace Trident. Kind of puts it in perspective - they'd rather buy a weapon they can never fire, than invest in the future of their citizens. When you add in the Vodafone tax deal and all the other murky goings on, the only thing you can conclude is this government is as shady and as dodgy as the last.

I don't believe they're in it for good - I believe they're in it for themselves. They're exactly the kind of people who don't deserve the responsibility they have, because they aren't interested in anything other than their own advancement.

I dont wanna sound overly negative, but maybe people need to realise that politics is not about the people (IN MY OPINION).

It would be great to think we live in this wonderful world where children, the climate, and genuine concerns are taken on board and integrated into a decision making process handled by people who genuinely gave a shit, and hey, im sure that a few politicians out there ARE in it for the right reason.

..... the sad reality tho (once again, in my opinion) is that this world, is ran by a bunch of people who have aims and objectives that don't really integrate anything that the poor and idiotic masses have to say. The big issues in this world are handled without any of our input, and if they appear to be, its because the outcome has already been decided and we are merely invited along for the ride.

The war in Afganistan and Iraq was a total given, and whether or not you and me agreed with it, or protested against it, was utterly irrelevant. Certain people wanted these countries to have 'democracy' (whatever that is) installed into them so that bigger plans could be implemented, and all it takes is the right public relations campaign to justify them. Here we are nearly a decade after 9/11 and the situation we are in bears little relationship to the reasons we were sold to be in them. Does anyone care? No. All we care about is extremists burning poppies, extremists with hook hands and other pointless crap which keeps us chatting and discussing issues while the agenda pushes forward.

We are merely passengers in someone ELSES reality. If you think about it, why would ANYONE important give a toss what you or me actually thinks? All we want to do is go about our simple little lives, whereas they have countries to conquer, worlds to create, and legacies to build.

aye, but that's such a council of despair. I can remember when the Soviet Union collapsed, thinking they'll have to find a new enemy now or the whole military/industrial complex couldn't keep spinning the fear=lots money=lotsa weapons =fear...... wheel. They managed to big up what are basically a bunch of amateur tossers into a 'war on terror' but even the mugs are starting to see through that. They are hoping to spin it out till they can plausibly cast China as being the next big thing. coupla years max.
Expect a few 'diplomatic incidents' and 'provocations' followed by the need to spend billions and trillions on countering the Chinese 'threat'

Yeah, i suppose if you can influence government policy once every 20-25 years then you are onto a good thing ;)

.... the poll tax would have cost us all less as well. Council tax royally fucked us even harder - You might say the government WON that one in the end ;)

Suppose that's what happens when dickhead policeman use them for riding on. Did you see them charging into the crowds on horses again?

i noticed some uneducated people causing bother who probly cant read news papers or switch on a tv never mind have brians to go to futher education.

perhaps it will deter bums from bumming out half way thru a course and never paying ££ back ??? people who cant afford fees can still get help towards costs ?? while the silver spoon gernerations mammys n daddys can pay large sums to fund the lower class ?.

i dont know - i finish eduction in 6 months

The likes of university education is the reason we're not all working in factories.

It's absolutely important vital to human society if we ever want to get anywhere and move away from the current world model.
