feel free to ask the other board members if you need help learning how to quote properly.

Also, go back and re-read my posts above to get more of an intelligent grasp of the point im making. Feel free to ask me if you need any help with the bigger words (longer than 4 letters long)

Putting 'FACT' at the end of a statement was never actually big, hard OR clever.

Lastly - as much as you seem to have jumped on the drug issue, even though it was meant as a comparrison of hipocracy and not the whole argument ............speeding can kill directly, but what about death from drug abuse and its affect on everyones family and friends? how about supporting an industry known for ruining peoples lives and killing them? Im liberal on both points (let me know if you need help with the word 'liberal').

    You just did though.

Like someone has said, speeding is endangering other people's lives, taking a couple of david's isn't endangering anyone's but your own.

Yeah, maybe speed cameras are used to fund other things, but if they weren't there would be a rise in road tax, or council tax etc and if you look at it, why should I suffer another rise in council tax, just because some dafty wants to fly about showing off in his new car, driving fast so people don't catch his ugly dish?

If you get caught doing anything illegal you'd get fined, the fact that you aren't put in jail for voluntarily endangering other people's lives should make you happy enough!

MOS: the reason there have been a few accidents round there is coz of charvers throwing breezeblocks through people's windows from the bridge, happened to someone I used to know a few years back. So technically it is a road accident blackspot, but just not as you'd imagine....

Brid: The example you cite outside the general - well that's just stupid. It's outside a hospital for fuck sake, probably one of the busiest streets in the west end, and someone complains coz they get caught speeding there, regardless of whether he had top pull out or not, if you're speeding up there a) it's very dangerous, and b) you're pretty stupid seeing as it's opposite a police station

wow - i guess that because one of my parents was caught on a speed camera for accidentally overtaking into another lane and IN FRONT OF A HOSPITAL NO LESS makes him evil!!!!

And you might want to back up your point about speed cameras saving lives with some FUCKING FACTS you easily led automaton.

What difference does it make if someone is caught outside a hospital? Last time i checked i didnt see old people in wheelchairs milling around outside the general just minding their business......

it's not that black and white. the 30 limit is a blanket ban over large stretches of road some of which it would be stupid to speed and some where it wouldn't
I got done on the same stretch of road as MoS and I don't think I was doing anything dangerous. the road was clear there are no pedestrians ( 6 years old or otherwise) and I slowed down when I got to the bottom where there could be pedestrians.
for this major crime I could have lost my license and with it my livelyhood.
It just seems cops set up mobile cameras where they know people will be speeding like that byker bit and they know they'll be doing it because the drivers can see it's safe there.

EXACTLY!!!! Speed bumps achieve exactly the same effect but you dont see the council putting those in eh - because they dont generate $$$$$

Its a shame pinky and perky a few posts up cant see the forest for the trees.

I thought you only had one more thing to say? Isnt it past your bed time sunshine?

Yep - my dad drives a BMW M5 ALPINA with a 'no fear' sticker in the back.... how did you guess? Im bringing up the rear (ooer missus) in a brand new M6 convertible.

We brake for no man, woman, or any of the DOZENS of people on zimmer frames out on the main road just outside the general that you honestly see every day.

who isn't reading posts properly now

I said it was outside the hospital ONE OF THE BUSIEST STREETS IN THE WEST END, just coz you chose to ignore that bit doesn't mean it wasn't there.

    But in answer to that.....

Out of hospitals come ambulances, generally at fairly high speed, - being an EMERGENCY service and all - not always with their sirens on, so you should be extra cautious around a hospital, especially with it being the only A&E in the city. Surely that's just common sense?

Really? I thought all the emergency vehicles went in through the back bit thats designed for them all to get in and out really quickly... and NOT on the busy west road.

They must have changed the route recently eh

just because people die from taking drugs its not in any way related to you buying a few disco biscuits...

and if you're thinking of using the 'seedy underworld' of drug trafficing/dealing costing lives and you indirectly killing people thru that... then i hope you don't wear any brands using 3rd world/asian sweatshops (a lot of the major clothing & footwear brands) cost they cost lives both literally and thru ruining childrens existances...

its all a matter of rights imo... i have the right to take drugs and perhaps put my friends and family thru heartache... but i do not have the right to increase the risk of killing/majorly injuring others by speeding and affecting their whole family...

but as you say you do sometimes creep over the limit without realising, thats life... but i can't see how you can then try and justify it? you were in the wrong even if it was accidental, and if you crept over the limit then maybe you should've been concentrating a bit more while driving?

*when i say YOU i'm meaning whoever's driving/everybody, not just you brid because i've quoted you :p

Sorry, I haven't studied the plans for the lastest traffic management system at the general

Perhaps you'd be better off spending your time worrying about your speed, rather than the latest one way system at a hospital that you might end up putting someone in

Really don't understand how any intelligent human being can even try to justify speeding on a busy street, anywhere.

But as i say, the hospital thing was a minor point, it's a busy road in terms of pedestrians, are you going to address this point?
