Yeah I'm a Liverpool fan so having suffered at Souness' hands I feel I'm in a position to pass comment. It's called 'empathy' my friend. I never made a statement saying I was a Ncle fan I was posing a question to the fans then answering it based on my opinion. (Being able to see things beyond your own club/view is a trait not usually shared by Newcastle fans). Sorry if didn't make that clear mate.

Like I say though I'm interested to see how he's gonna do at Newcastle. :)

Point taken fella, must admit i wasnt impressed when i heard but what can we do if no one else wants it and we need someone who is going to give the players a kick up the arse. I'm not happy about getting souness but what can i do? All i can do is get behind him and show my support, no point in whinging like some people, who knows he might even be good for the toon.

I know the feeling of getting a manager in your not too but the least the fans can do is get behind the team even if they don't agree on the manager. He's not the worst guy that could've been appointed and I think the backlash has come partially out of Sheperd's grandiose statements last week.

He built it up so much I think the fans would've been disappointed if Jesus Christ was appointed. :D

well he's here now so we'll just have to see, he's a differant kind of manager to bobby robson so it'll be interesting to see how the players react.
But i also think the majority of newcastle supporters are dissapointed after freddy's watch the news kinda speach, so from the off it'll be hard for souness to win the crowd over, he's gonna have to get a bit of luck otherwise the fans will be on his back.

I think it's a bad appointment, but anyone who boos Souness (as I've heard suggested  ) or takes it out on him can fuck well off! Can't blame the man for taking on a bigger and better job!

He's not ideal, but give him a chance.:)

yet again mr "talk out of my arse" shephard has made you's look a laughing stock!

why claim that there plenty of top name managers waiting to take the role and then appoint sum1 like souness who tbh has done NOTHING.

he aint the big name that you needed.

big big  to the nufc board!

Don't forget Souness is now the occupier of one of the "top eight managerial" vacancies in the world" mate. See "Sheperd: Deluded?" thread

Fair play though Souness is there now....

Keep reading that thread & you will see the only mistake Shepherd made was saying we are 8th when the fact is we are 9th.

Brian when Sunderland appointed Wilkinson I  , when they appointed long ball Mick I , when Newcastle appoint Souey you dissapointed:confused:

    BRIAN IS A MAG:king:

Hardly, try David Murray his ££££'s and a certain scouse crew getting the whole of England and some of there best internationals banned from European football.

It's a poor appointment, be honest with yourself or have your standards dropped. The TOON board should have got rid of Robson in the summer if it was on the agenda when there were more managers with pedigree available.

Dont get me wrong, I laughed my tits off all day after I heard the news!

    Its comical.

After saying there was so much interest from all these big names you appoint a nobody - absolutely comical

McCarthey is a better manager than Souness as well - dont be kidding yourself ;)

Magic Mick has worked wonders @ Sunderland:confused: :spangled:

He could be up there with Sir Lawrie Mc if he continues to do what he is doing.

I mentioned his name to my mates when Bobby first got sacked, he will certainly kick them up the arse, but I really don't know if he will do a good job! Some of his signings have been terrible, but seems to have an eye for good youngsters, not really what we need atm.

Anyone know how long his contract is for btw?

Just got to give him our full backing, and hope he can bring some disipline, which has been lacking, and maybe a bit luck. Good luck to him, and I will be supporting like normal!!
