    but they are actually doing something about it in newcastle...in the past 10 years we've come so far, newcastle is such a nicer palce, and they are putting alot of time and money into making it a good place to live...yeah theres dirty scallies, but you get them everywhere!!

    and the fact that the council seem to think they can make it into a perfect city in about 5 years time.

    newcastle has more than most from my experience... the 'charv culture' - clothes/voice/attitude ive seen here is massive compared to anywhere else ive been...

    ian - raizing half of bradfwod - surely a move for the best?

    can they fit "the 'fax" and cruddersfield in with that you think?

    did you read the publicly released 'proposals' that every applying city handed in?
    I still stand by the fact that we DESERVED the city of culture, slate the city all you will but we have came on leaps and bounds in a astonishing amount of time. that alone deserves credit and the city of culture tag would have been a valuable asset to the city.

    but the city of culture award isn't about how far you've come, its about how cultured/culturally diverse the city is.

    an there are a few city's in england that fit that description better than newc.

    and that city which is oh so more cultured than newc is liverpool?

    last time i was there i certainly didnt get the impression it was any better or any worse...

    regardless, no point bitching over 'spilled milk' so to speak... we didnt get it, and thats that.
