    Its a fair point but given that you have to vote for someone and you don't want labour or tory then what do you do? You never know, there may be a major swing!

    I'm sure you are, I was simply trying to show that the tories are the party of privilege and if you think that the working class will benefit from tory rule then you have no grasp of history.

    i have a good view of tory rule, growing up in it thru my formative years in the north. they made some hard desicions that had to be made to turn things around with some seriously failing companies - it hurt a lot of people but needed to be done. this tiny island can not compete with imports from massive nations - we're not a manufacturing nation anymore and in reality haven't been since the post-war era.

    People blame thatcher for the failings of those industries. it wasn't, it was the unions.

    do i think ALL the desicions made were good ones? no. poll tax was horrendous. the CJB was equally a nightmare. now look at 'labour' - pah. it's just a name now, 'new labour' is more appropriate as they only use the old name to keep the votes from what unions are left and give them support.
