Its £9.75 a month for the HD channells yes. But like i said thats only £117 a year extra. I can live with that thats about 1 night out a year less money wise.

With the tesco deal yes you get 2 months free packages but after that if you don't want the HD u get rid of it but you still have to pay for the packages.

Say you pau £200 one off fee to tesco. your packages come to £50 a month thats leaves u having paid £100 for the box and install. more than with sky. only difference is you get to opt out of the 12 month contract.

So if your planning on opting out after the 2 months go with Tesco but if your an existing customer or a customer who plans on keeping the packages and sky hd channels then the sky deal is fantastic.

No need, it's only broadcast in 1080i and i have a 32" toshiba rezga ;)

It's £10 a month for a few extra pixels yes which makes viewing them more enjoyable. Just as playing COD on a SD set looks shit to a HD and movies look much better in HD.

As MOS said they are all broadcast at 1080i

My sets not full HD no, only 720p/1080i but tbh i can't tell the difference between full Transformers on blu ray on my sisters full 1080p Samsung and transformers on HD DVD at 1080i on my 32" Toshiba.

What is noticable is the difference between transformers on SD DVD on either set though.

my HD Ready Phillips looks like a good standard def signal when using SKY HD pretty disapointed tbh, not sure if its cos its a much bigger screen than my 26" FULL HD 1080p Samsung which gives the best picture iv seen from Freesat

Have you made usre what you are watching is deffo HD?

things like the Simpsons on Sky One currently are just upscaled SD if you press info on your remote it will tell you if its HD even on the HD channels.

It is horses for course though but movies & sports in HD is good enough for me to pay £10 extra for as well as Discovery which is class in HD.

Only downside with Sky HD at the moment will be lack of ITV HD for their footy as their pic quality of footy cames is fucking shocking in SD.

I had Saving Private Ryan on DVD the other day upscaled with my new surround sound on. I was shitting bricks at times during the opening sequence. Crystal clear pic and explosions around my room.

Football is by far the best thing to watch in HD

You can see things so clearly esp Steven Cedric Taylor

Thats the one channel im pssed off that sky don't have as the SD picture on ITV is fucking shocking. Nearly as bad as watching Setanta.

I'm hoping the game tonight looks better than it did with SD sky though as the HD box should do a decent job color wise and with my tv upscale it a bit better than it would be.

Actually looking at it now its better but not perfect. Still looked better on my old CRT tv.
