Do you even have any idea what your saying?

I'm sorry beating a troubled child wont help anything.

We need to find time to help these chilodren - if you truely want to solve their problem, but I think a savage like you just wants to see little defencles kids hurt... apethug.

Yet again you're totally missing my point Joe. Im talking about the kids who run riot because their parents let them and dont do anything to discipline them.

Its far too common nowadays that children are labelled as problems by their parents cos they cant be arsed to look after them properly. And before you say anything, it happens a hell of a lot more than people would think and I have seen it first hand

i was meaning that you cannot compare the 2, and that we wouldn't have the same outcome as america as the 2 societies are too different to warrant such a statement.

i was not saying that hitting a child would be positive, jus that we wouldn't necessarily get the same social outcome as the us.

Joe Ive never said children should be beaten have I?

Kids need more discipline from their parents, like a smack for doing something wrong. To teach them not to do it again. And when I say smack I dont mean a beating

I'm sorry but at such a young age I disagree (we're talking 5-11 year olds), you may see slight changes at secondary school level - but if u think caning a 16 year old kid is going to discipline him you've another thing coming :D

This thread is on about corporal punishment...

    I'll 3 questions:

Should a teacher be allowed to cane a child?

Which children would benefit from this caning?

    What would they benefit?

At the end of the day the problem is the breakdown of social responsibility and the family unit... and thats not gonna get better any time soon - we're on a downhill path and nothing is gonna stop it.

Countries like China and Japan are a good example of a solid society built on family and social responsibility.

    no.
i never said that people who arent physically disciplined become criminals, although i believe that it certainly stopped me straying from the straight and narrow as a kid.

i'm with you there, i don't think beating as a punishment would work at a young age, as this is probs a factor that makes alot of scallies how they are...

i disagree. not being taught "proper" moral and social values from a young age, coupled with "proper" parenting makes many scallies the way they are.
If you beat someone at a young age they will be scared shitless for the rest of their life (which is not what this thread is advocating).

They only way we will bring order back to the classroom is employ the class bully to keep the peace.

Anyone steps out of line gets a clip off Tyson or Beyonce

Where are we at with this thread are trying to reclaim the classroom or tackle unruly kids on the street corners/shopping malls ?

And how will caning a child at school replace "proper" parenting?
