    Re: bollocks

    ok.

You've just called me a fucking idiot, then completely agreed with me?? I wasn't badmouthing you or detox, and I didn't say make habit or detox pay, I said they seem to be the most visited nights, not shindig or stone love.. so the marketing side is failing. I think more people as a collective go to habit or detox if you are to be trusted on the detox front and the photos / talk about habit are to be believed. :)

The 'banter' is dire and repetive - which is why spence and man of science rarely post, I know for a fact neither would shed a tear if this place got pulled.. from seeing pm's sent to other people on phils behalf and from spences mouth.

The people on here are too apathetic to ever seriously carry through the voting idea, people have lives away from this place, most come on to fill the time at work/uni and its been tried before with deakin asking who we wanted at promise.. it failed miserably.

People browse, but can't be arsed to type? That says a lot to me.

The idea of this board isn't anywhere near as contrived as you make out, drop the 'scene' thing for a second (ironic that you constantly use a word or phrase popularised/derived by those who you mock), it was meant for people to come on and have a laugh, take a look back to 01/02 and you'll see what I mean.

    is NECL still going?

Shows how little you know really from reading this really.

For one, you where never around when this board was 'great'...

The board has always been massively cliquey, moreso in the past than now, a large proportion of people despised Deakin - no one had any such 'collective' faith in him, it was a nightclub, I don't think anyone was massively arsed?

I think I've met 90%-95% of the people on this board whereas I doubt you've got past 5%, it might seem pessemistic but most people treat this place as a joke and willingly berate it in person..

There's no way of getting new members in as there's nothing to base it on, I'm suprised robs let it limp along for this amount of time..

    Re: Re: bollocks

without wanting to get into a raving agraument , i think we have different definitions of scene

scene to me is something created from people who have passion for a certain type of music / interest and want to sahre that with other people

the only time detox ever thought "ooo we better start promoting on the promise board" is after dodgy / mike started helping us with the overboard parties in 2004.

at the end of the day , if ROB is unhappy that people are using this as an advertsing space then he can easily pull the whats on like was done petulently many times before

if something is enjoyed by people then people will go to it end of whether or not you agree or disageree that its a good / shite thing to go to

I have to say your satire is sometimes lost on me cos from where i am sitting and from where i go socialising one of the biggest reasons people tell me they dont post on here is the fact that non residents of newcastle just spend their time taking the piss

tbf i have my fun with you and french william and at the end of the day you give our threads a huge amount of increased post count, which i find hugely "amusing"

why dont people just accept the board for what it is and put their effort into making it a better place instead of running it down

i would say that the biggest reason spence and man of dnt come on here is the realise that this board is such a small insignificant part of their lives and they have basically outgrown it

most local party organisers merely use it as a means of free publicity and i dont see anything wrong with that either

NECL as far as i know is still going, i would say theres a better community spirit going on over there than here imo

    This is the problem.

I think it would be a start to get the URL on flyers/posters, perhaps in exchange for publicity on here,

I FIND YOUR ASSUMPTIONS OF ME INSULTING

i have fucking met so many people of here its unreal, I would daresay I have met about 70% of people on here at some point or another

I dont give a fuck i was ever on here ages ago

i think you miss how much i really give a fuck about this board

outside of the interent is where its at

as i said previously you aint ever met me & you dont know me

the majority of people on here realise this is merely an internet persona, aske rossy, fino 1 , fidla

now get back to the point you raised

    should the board go,

YES if you keep repeating yourself

personally I fail to see how people can make that valid a contribution to the newcastle clubscene unless they actually regularly get back to newcastle
maybe that comes across as aloof but its a fact

    Re: Re: Re: bollocks

Again, you didn't listen, I think it's fine that detox and habit advertise on here.

I'm happy to contribute to you advertising, no skin off my nose, we've never met and never will so I know your assumptions are ill advised, and I've no doubt mine are of you too.

As for the 'outsider' comment follow robs advice and admit you're a liar.

Even though I don't post on here that often I still read it on a fairly regular basis..

I still find some of the things on here interesting and the events section lets me know about up and coming things I would otherwise be unaware of.
And the mixes bit lets me download stuff to listen to..

So yeah I'd like to see it still go on.. why not.. who is it harming?

I'm going on the fact about 5-10 people have said recently, two today, they would either like to see it pulled or posted threads going on about how bad it is..
