Yeah, I went to find Dan because he had something for me. The majority of us were standing next to the bar near the dancefloor all night.

you fucking idiot, I have pmed Rob / Mardy about half a dozen timesin the past regarding getting back on here and all of the messages were unreplied to.

We would also happily pay for banners , but to our benefit realised a long time ago that using the promise / nucastle board as the sole means of promotion is a very bad move,

VUZZ and twisted logic both did that and when Mark pulled the whats on forum their numbers were considerably affected.

IMHO the nucastle board is / was supposed to keep the social side of the scene going but it has basically turned on the most part into a combination of the following 3 things

    (1) power crazy mods disapperaing up their arses
    (2) people who dont even live in newcastle using it to relieve their boredom by winding up people who actually contribute to the scene in newcastle

    (3) a place for good greef board members who have been alienated / banned on the goodgreef board to come and vent their anger and showcase their stubidity

this board would be a much better place if some of the veterans like man of science and spence were given the job of moderating it , cos they wouldnt pander to the cliques as much and are pretty impartial types.

Finally HABIT or detox DONT really need this board as their sole means of promotion as both nights have been built up initially without the support of the board

to use habit or detox to cite prime examples of free advertising is bollocks when 2 or 3 of the biggest/most popular nights in newcastle : namely shindig, wax on and stonelove all use the facility much more than us

maybe the board should look at holding some 1 off events www.nucasstle.co.uk with a vote on which djs should play, then is may attract new members who would come and log on and post off the back of the events.

The amount of people i talk to that say they browse on here regularly but cant be arsed to post amazes me.

Snap. Maybe Rob/the mods should enforce a zero tolerance approach to the stuff that they dont like, like racism etc. Just a thought.

You have never pmd me (I have all my pms for the past 2 years still saved).

You have asked other people to pm me (MOS & Fiddla) and everytime I have replied that they should pass my email address onto you so we can get it sorted out.

This is where you should admit you are a liar and move on.

What makes you think we can be arsed? It's like a playground in here, people break the rules just to get a rise out of the staff.

this board has become pretty ageist / racist / cliquey in recent times

at least when MARK had it as the promise board there was a central figure that every one could radge off at and it tended to give the collective some kind of solidarity when they were badgering him to put certain djs on

it could really be a class board again

but at present there's too much dirty linen / laundry aired in public and arguments over nothing

theres also a fair few people who are intent on putting the opposite point of view across no matter what anyone says

plus it desperately needs new members who have IQ's higher than a glass of water and arent just the goodgreef rejects

    Re: bollocks

    ok.

You've just called me a fucking idiot, then completely agreed with me?? I wasn't badmouthing you or detox, and I didn't say make habit or detox pay, I said they seem to be the most visited nights, not shindig or stone love.. so the marketing side is failing. I think more people as a collective go to habit or detox if you are to be trusted on the detox front and the photos / talk about habit are to be believed. :)

The 'banter' is dire and repetive - which is why spence and man of science rarely post, I know for a fact neither would shed a tear if this place got pulled.. from seeing pm's sent to other people on phils behalf and from spences mouth.

The people on here are too apathetic to ever seriously carry through the voting idea, people have lives away from this place, most come on to fill the time at work/uni and its been tried before with deakin asking who we wanted at promise.. it failed miserably.

People browse, but can't be arsed to type? That says a lot to me.

The idea of this board isn't anywhere near as contrived as you make out, drop the 'scene' thing for a second (ironic that you constantly use a word or phrase popularised/derived by those who you mock), it was meant for people to come on and have a laugh, take a look back to 01/02 and you'll see what I mean.

    is NECL still going?

Shows how little you know really from reading this really.

For one, you where never around when this board was 'great'...

The board has always been massively cliquey, moreso in the past than now, a large proportion of people despised Deakin - no one had any such 'collective' faith in him, it was a nightclub, I don't think anyone was massively arsed?

I think I've met 90%-95% of the people on this board whereas I doubt you've got past 5%, it might seem pessemistic but most people treat this place as a joke and willingly berate it in person..

There's no way of getting new members in as there's nothing to base it on, I'm suprised robs let it limp along for this amount of time..
