Also an elementary misunderstanding, the best characterised are the mouse, the rat, E coli and the worm c elegans by far.

You're not allowed to do invasive experiments on humans any more ;)

I've quoted you him saying it! Would you like the page reference? It's page 40! The man's a joke!

You really should just read the link for the complete character annihilation but still:

The man is ignorant and incorrect.

It'll not be long before there's no gingers left and people won't be born with tonsils and an apendix.

    which parts?

What does the similarity of species over a period of time have to do with evolution.... it certainly isn't evidence of evolution.

Are you seriously suggesting that the above have been exposed to more research than humans?!??!?!?

You quoted a simplification so that his target audience understood?

I find it astounding that andy_rocks would label one of MIT's leading nuclear professors an idiot

    speaks volumes andy.

By far. Most of what we know of human biological processes comes from studying these.

I really want to sit here all day and rip creationism to shreds, but if I don't do some proper work I'm going to fail my exams next week.....you're not putting forward any arguments that haven't been shredded by any number of academic evolutionary biologists, and they've written the books to explain it - they're going cheap on amazon ;)

Keep on asking Joe....where's the evidence for the alternative?

    thats not what I said....

are you suggesting that the above have been subject to more research than man?

why are you bringing up creationism in an evolution thread... you seem unable to defend your own beliefs so you attack those of others.

Thats exactly what you're doing - you're just attacking evolution without putting anything forward though?

As I said at the start, evolution is the best theory for the explanation of complex life even concieved. Noone has ever come up with a better one or a serious flaw in it. Therefore, if something has to be taught as fact it may as well be the best theory. The alternatives people want teaching all involve magic and superstition and are not credible.

Feel free to come up with a better theory if you can.

NB anything involving G-d is unlikely to be taken seriously in the absence of some compelling piece of new evidence.

In a court of law do you have to prove who did kill professor plumb in the conservatory with lead piping to prove that miss peacock didn't?

Where on earth do you reach the INSANE notion that you have to provide an alternative to disprove something?!?!?!?!

You're the worst scientist in the history of science...

Oh, and that's former professor actually.

Maybe they fired him because the GCSE students were picking flaws in his books

You haven't disproved a single thing about evolution

It's the best theory ever concieved for the explanation of complex life.

Stop picking on the biology teachers, what about the PE teachers (sport scientists) who say it's a scientific fact that taking part in violent, sadistic team games is good for your personal development !!

Never trust anyone who claims to be a scientist ..... (I can think of one person in particuar on here  )

You're right, and I'll go a stage futher - you should never trust anyone who can't support what they're saying. ;)

I'd like to see children taught this, I'm reckon it could be the end of extremism and the suicide bomber. I shan't mind whatever else my future children believe, religion, astrology, whatever, provided they've made their minds up for themselves on the basis of a fair assessment of evidence.
