    Heres what I reckon.

We don't know what came before the universe.

Simple events are more probable than complex events.

If a god has arisen, capable of making worlds and answering prayers then it is a very fucking complex thing indeed.

Therefore God is extremely unlikely to be the answer.

That's pretty poor reasoning. By your logic we're more likely to be made out of slime and snails and puupy dogs' tails than of complex DNA.

No, evolution over 5 billion years accounts for complexity here.

No God could have evolved, because then he's not God at all, he's an alien race and thus not worthy of worship presumably.

the big bang could just be the common name for it. it could have been a small pop.

you have knowledge of something that reguarly happens so you can guess that this pattern may repeat itself.

We have no experience of anything like a big bang or a universe coming into existance.... bad scienceboy.

Religion and science are not the same, you exist in a world where everything must be explained by obvious fact.... I dont.

How on earth can you say that.. If you have no clue how it came into existance you can't possibly determine the complexity of any event which would bring about its creation (if the universe did come into existance... it may of always been).

Your arguement's quite complex. Shouldn't we just credit everything to God because it's more simple?

I don't know of a religion that states G-d evolved?

Stop thinking like a scientist when explaining religion.

The origin of a universe is a scientific question. The origin of life is a scientific question.

You can't say 'you've not got enough evidence to prove this, therefore thinking it likely is irrational' and on the other say 'I've got no evidence for what I believe, but I don't need any because I'm defining it as a religious question this time'

And use them as comparable answers.

No me neither and this is exactly the point.

Complex life is the most complex thing we know, hence it is the most improbable. The only thing we know of that could account for this is evolution.

If God is capable of making worlds he is the most complex thing we know, and thus the most improbable. Only we have no way at all of explaining this.

Any belief in a god is irrational.

    I don't know of a religion that considers G-d a life.

I know one of my rabbi's says the closest you can get to creating the image of G-d in your head (which you're not meant to do - he's a radical reformer) is thinking of a mathmatical formula.

Stop thinking of G-d as an intelligent being that evolved... no religion does.

I certainly don't think he evolved and I don't think of him as a life because I'm confident he doesn't exist.

Your scriptures describe your god as a being capable of having a gender, having an opinion, doing things, being jealous, having emotions, able to communicate with humans - these are characteristics of a life, not a mathematical formula

    No they don't?

    Define opinion...

    A goyish misunderstanding...

    Define communication...
