He would be a cracker playing just behind the front 2 or in a free role. Got a quickness and a tenacity that when mixed with his increasingly accurate shooting/passing could be interesting to see one day. @Benson ... a good point well made. Defoe will get his chance in these qualifiers. Partnering Rooney or Owen?
The fact that scholes, owen, beckham havent been on there game for god knows howlong and they havent been dropped just goes to show how bad our national manager realy is!!
Who is to blame though? The England team has been unable to retain possession since long before Sven was in charge...maybe his 'defend a one goal lead' tactics are actually the only way for England to get to the latter stages of major tournaments with the ability we have
whats lacking from the team is that little bit of arrogance/confidence that instills belief but you could ask yourself who is responsible for this? We need to develop our own confidence before we can believe we can win.. or even, hold out for however many minutes. If you invite pressure and don't believe you can deal with it then what's the point
imo what is lacking is the basic ability to get a football down and play. Keep the ball, don't hit it long. Everything else takes care of itself. Its that simple
I agree, they don't have enough faith in each other. In effect they can't play as a team and therefore don't work in tandem.... perhaps you should read my self-help/belief book Benson, I'll get a copy off to you
and who was it who inspired you to write that book?? :tut: Your memory is short my son, don't you remember my days as coach
a serialisation might boost sales mate... I'll call your agent and we'll set up a meeting. Don't be late this time :tut:
